lol. Your shooting from the hip tonight. No f**king around with the truth.
Clubs got more right than wrong in recent times, Frampton was one of the definate wrongs however lol

hi guys this maybe a dumb question but can we talk to nth, dogs and whoever is third in the pre season draft and ask them are they happy to leave dawson to us at pick four. is there something as honour amongst thieves in this situation or is this just fantasy.
Yes it really annoys me that the AFL trade talk bozos talk about what Adelaide "need to do to get this done", and "this could go down to the wire", yet it's just accepted that Lipinski will walk to Collingwood through the PSD as they'll need all their points for a Daicos bid.It would be an absolute incompetence if Adelaide FC did not use our position in the PSD and the cap room to drive down the trade price for Dawson.
I think the deal will likely get done centred around pick 23. Personally, I would be ruthless like we were last year with Hately.
We have pick 4 in the PSD. We have huge cap room. For anyone to get Dawson in the PSD, they have to match exact terms of the deal. We structure the deal in a way where he gets paid $1M+ in his first season of the deal and teams above us in the PSD do not contemplate drafting him. Carlton did the same thing with Martin and Swans with Tippett to a degree.
The risk is absolutely minimal here. Why give up something when you don't need to? You can get a bloody good player in the draft with pick 23 so why give it up easily. There is not a great deal to be gained by doing that to be honest. Personally, PSD would be my #1 option but suspect that club will try and do the right thing.
Jesse White was a salary dump after they signed him to a big $ multi year deal based on his first half a dozen or so games.Sydney tried to force us to take Jesse White as part of the Tippett deal, now they can take our rubbish.
In what world are Lipinski and Dawson even remotely close in value though?Yes it really annoys me that the AFL trade talk bozos talk about what Adelaide "need to do to get this done", and "this could go down to the wire", yet it's just accepted that Lipinski will walk to Collingwood through the PSD as they'll need all their points for a Daicos bid.
Why should we be worse off because we don't get a father son pick gifted to us in the top 2 picks?
And I agree 23 will be right in the sweet spot for a gun small forward which is a real list need.
This year's 2nd round, and next year's 3rd round is equivalent to a pick in the High teens.....
This seems fair and reasonable

Yeah Frampton was a joke. Would be funny and the ultimate troll if they took him though.Sydney aren't going to want Frampton, not every club is as dumb as us to take on a spud like that.
That’s not the point. If Dawson chose Collingwood. What pick would Sydney get in a trade? In what world are Lipinski and Dawson even remotely close in value though?
Aren't they looking at Dumont, Dunstan and Findlayson? They're a destination club.Anyone need a cheer up..head over to the port board...not happy there as they think they might be on the slide whilst we are on the up and that there is nothing much for them to look forward to this trade period. Happy days
Agreed but as we saw in 2018, things can dissolve quicklyI know we love to hate them, but they are in a much better on field position than us even in the medium term.
No doubt they will think they have a year or 2 left in their premiership window. The big problem for them is that Melbourne look miles better and the Dogs are Miles better and are adding Darcy right at the pointy end of the draft. Only a supreme optimist would see port being a real chance to win a flag in the next 1-2 years before they slid back after retirements and move into some sort of rebuild phase. Don't get me wrong they have some great youth but they need more, much more to remain a contender into the mid 2020's.I know we love to hate them, but they are in a much better on field position than us even in the medium term.

What do you mean nothing to look forward to?
To me they seem to be stuck where they are - they've traded in players in recent seasons for a flag tilt but look like they're not quite good enough, spent a lot of draft capital to get Rozee (pick 29 for Fantasia), many senior players nearing the end of the road, not a lot of draft stock this year.Anyone need a cheer up..head over to the port board...not happy there as they think they might be on the slide whilst we are on the up and that there is nothing much for them to look forward to this trade period. oh yes..They are going to want to lock away guys like butters and Georgiades soon as they may well be big targets for the vic and WA clubs whilst guys who we have very high hopes for like Thilthorpe, Cook, Pedlar are locals and many were big crows fans so are living the dream. To me they seem to be stuck where they are - they've traded in players in recent seasons for a flag tilt but look like they're not quite good enough, spent a lot of draft capital to get Rozee (pick 29 for Fantasia), many senior players nearing the end of the road, not a lot of draft stock this year.
Outside of a few young players whos good (and some who might have other clubs come hard at before long) not sure what the rest of their next gen are like.
They'll probably flatline for a long time gradually declining if they don't go for a serious rebuild soon - either way, would likely take some while to get back up again.
Can almost feel sorry for them...
...nah
I think their concerns wouldn't be about how they are travelling because they are in a lot better position than we are but more about how quickly we can improve and we will. The appointment of Burgess will be frightening them big timeNo doubt they will think they have a year or 2 left in their premiership window. We are 1-2 years away from really pushing for finals but the dynamic of our list is now in a much much healthier phase than what theirs is - assuming we can keep improving the players we have. Port are bleeding coaches, have financial issues etc. We are building a best practice back of house top down and have money to burn in cap. I would much rather be on board our train than theirs for where the future looks
Well Reid has categorically ruled us out of looking at him on 5AA just now...phewAren't they looking at Dumont, Dunstan and Findlayson? They're a destination club.
