From memory, ex-Port players in the AFL system during 1996 who didn't make their way onto the Power list either immediately or eventually would include:

Nathan Buckley (Collingwood)
Craig Bradley (Carlton)
Andrew Obst (Melbourne)
Trent Ormond-Allen (Melbourne)
Donald Cockatoo-Collins (Melbourne)
David Cockatoo-Collins (Melbourne)
Troy Bond (Adelaide)
Andrew McLeod (Adelaide)
Simon Trengenza (Adelaide)
Greg Anderson (Adelaide)
David Hynes (Fremantle)
Clive Waterhouse (Fremantle)
Shane Wakelin (St Kilda)
Anthony Darcy (St Kilda)

I might've missed another one or two...
Plus all the talent in the port magpies... Now would be interesting to have a look how many players from the old "port zone's" are now in the AFL.

We had great zone (and yeah we put in great work as well) now it's ****ed 🤔 ?

There is no official club acknowledgement yet, not surprised.

everything that came before the current regime is not to be spoken of. Unless it's from the 2011/12 era, when they can point to it and say "Don't you remember where we were in..."

Vale Barry.

Supported the club in so many ways, both officially as a Board member, and as a volunteer.

It's people like you that made this club great in your time.

(We'll save the venomous diatribe about club standards declining for a separate post, out of respect)

Cripps get's a long article in tomorrow's Tsier, that went up about 30 minutes ago. KT makes a bit of a comeback.

Trade secrets: How Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps ensures the Power avoid rebuilding while remaining competitive

Port Adelaide has always maintained it won’t ever rebuild – and it is the only club without a wooden spoon. Meet the man who’s made that possible behind the scenes.

At Alberton, the word rebuild is pretty much banned. Port Adelaide have always been steadfast that it won’t ever go down that path, with the Power the only club in the AFL yet to receive a wooden spoon.

So, how has the Power avoided going down the route other clubs have gone down, and continued to find ways of remaining competitive in the AFL? At the forefront of this is Jason Cripps.
You will rarely hear from him in public, the Power list manager is reluctant to do any media.

In fact, when ringing around those who know and have dealt with the former rugged St Kilda defender, the message that comes back is that he won’t like an article being written about him. But few people at Port Adelaide are as important as the Melbourne-based Cripps.

That is definitely the view of former Power chief executive Keith Thomas.
“I have always considered Jason to be one of the most important members of the Port Adelaide management team,” he told this masthead. “Head of list management is a complex role, and to be effective you must have the ability to not only understand the problem you’re trying to solve, but also to sell the solution in … both externally and internally. “I think Jason is as good at it as anyone in the game.”

Yet again Cripps, who became Port’s list manager in 2011 after a stint as an assistant coach, and the Power has featured heavily in the trade period.

A year after bringing former No. 1 draft pick Jason Horne-Francis and West Coast premiership player Willie Rioli to Alberton, the Power came away from the recent trade period with key defenders Esava Ratugolea, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and ruckmen Ivan Soldo and Jordon Sweet.

This was despite the Power having a limited draft hand, as a result of the Horne-Francis and Rioli deal. But when the trade deadline came, the Power had all four of its targets – at the cost of its young wingman Xavier Duursma, its future first and fourth and some other later picks.

Power footy boss Chris Davies declared the club was “really happy” with its trade period, having secured all of its targets.

So how did Cripps do it again?........................

Still nothing from the club.
Hang your heads in shame you mongrels! How embarrassing ☹️
Nobody employed at the club probably knows Barry Wilson. The Tsier had to speak to Bucky about him.

Pfft. If I die tomorrow I want a Sack Hinkley sticker on my coffin at the funeral.

Won't ever rebuild, so strap in for mid table for eternity. Another strategy based on fear
Koch’s lack of being able to translate business to football again. No realisation that a step back of a lower finish, to get better picks and games into younger players (rather then flog older players past it to dust) is like taking a loan to buy new equipment for a business to then generate more income (success in football).

Lol theyve all ****ed off for the year on supporter dime. They havent even said anything about Hayes/Lycett/Fantasia yet. All came from other sources.

Club hierarchy probably frantically trying to contact club historian Mark Shepherd to give them some intel on this unknown identity named Burry Whillsen for a short article on the club website!!!

I started watching this today and got so pissed off at how my attitude to this club has changed that I had to turn it off.

Remember how you felt in 1997?
This will remind you.

Our frogs have been boiling ever since.

No wonder I don't GAF anymore.
Anyway, about to watch it all again.

Hinkley walks into the bar.

"Hey guys, what you all talking about?"

"Premierships"

Do something you pack of campaigners! Please!
Premiership reunions surely must have a theme of "those were the days" considering Tredrea is the only one that even attempts to hold these frauds accountable.
