Cant believe you guys are still banging on about Matt. Move on, you wanted him gone he is going. You said he is worth nothing and we will get nothing for him. Your opinions were so highly rated that those close to him are in his ear about GTFO.

You say that like it's a bad thing. If I played any part in getting Matt Thomas to want to GTFO to Richmond, I'll be thrilled with myself.

Fox news reporting Tom Bell from Carlton may become available - would love to see him in Port jumper.

This guy is a talented version of Matt Thomas. Would take.

Ok so far we've learnt itisnt2 hard is Matty t's mum or Matty t himself either way Richmond won't get anything we don't agree to, however bluntly what does he give us that a more skillful player who has the same work ethic and desire couldn't?

Great club men are just that but at some point if we don't rule a line through players who have delivered us to this point without the rose colored glasses well we will be the western power before even a handful of seasons are played at Adelaide oval

We all sit here and brutalize the footy dept for making errors why are players different if they haven't delivered? 25 yr old blokes who crack 20 touches once in a season with roughly 60% DE aren't going to help us we need more than that and now

I wish it wasn't true because there is so much to like about him but it is

That's still 4 knee ligaments ruptured between he and his brother before either of them reaches 21. We surely couldn't take that risk at 7 and pass over Stringer who has far greater upside and what appears to be far less risk.
The bloke they had to re-attach the bottom half of his leg it was broken that badly, who still runs with a bit of a limp?

I've seen it, horrendous. Compound (outside skin) fracture to both bones.

It's hard/impossible to say whether it'll affect him, long term, and by how much - but he's not the "risk free" proposition either way.

Second hand report of his progress has him playing for Bendigo VFL, breaking the tackles of men easily, occassionally in the best players with no limp evident. Latest report on Menzel is 6-12 weeks out, won't attend draft camp or at least won't test. You compute the relative risk factors.

I like the descriptions of Stringer - not having seen him play, it sounds like he has a bit of Jack Darling about him. Big (perhaps not as tall), but mobile and agile enough to work through the midfield. Sounds aggressive and a player who can take a game by the scruff of the neck. I'd love that sort of grunt, impact player with "follow my lead" written all over him and then complement it with a pacy, skillful midfielder (Mayes) who can kick the ball a mile.

I'll have to check but I believe Stringer is taller than Darling. He was certainly elite athleticism before his injury and Draft Camp should tell us how his recovery is going. That is, he makes Darling look like a 188cm Toby Thurstans.

Did I mention in his first game back from his broken leg all he could do was sit in a forward pocket? And kick 9.7?

Played forward due to his athletic qualities being that he had a bung leg and couldn't play anywhere else
