Haha FMD. Dan was in our leadership group, so clearly not considered an "entitled and toxic jerk" until 15 minutes ago.

Fans are so stupid. As soon as a player gets traded they're toxic. Regardless of the years he spent at our club as highly regarded person.

Enjoy eating up what the club is feeding you.
The Port Adelaide leadership group? Impressive.

So highly regarded that he was described as "idiotic" by the GM of football a few years ago.

Such a great leader that he upped and left with 4 years left on a contract less than 12 months after being added to the leadership group.

Such a great guy that he made it clear on Tuesday night in the coldest way imaginable to a very senior person at the club who has supported him for the last decade and who he actually owes his entire football career to (as well as the millions that come with it) that he would not be returning to the club.

If you think that his behaviour is indicative of the type of person you want at your football club, let alone supposedly leading your football club, then you have a very different idea of what that looks like than I do.
If this is correct, I’m glad the club traded him. Why accomodate someone who clearly doesn’t want to be here & has the audacity to tell the club he has no intention of coming back.

It sounds like his mind was made up a long time ago & his public declaration of club loyalty & affection was complete bollocks.

According to 7 news:

Boak to announce future plans in the coming days.

Additional delistings to be announced next week.

Oh, it’s Kristian Jaksch’s sister. Port is playing the long game here with the Jaksch height genetics and Houston’s ability, we’ll get a good fs. Well played, Jason Cripps. He’s outsmarted everyone.

The 23 or 29 pick stuff comes down to whether or not they believed it was worth kyboshing the deal over a difference of 6 selections in a point of the draft that is very even talent wise.
Not having a shot at you but clearly Richmond (3 premierships over the last 7 years) thought it was worth kyboshing. And they got 23. And 6 clubs get to pick the eyes out of the remaining top end talent before we do.

Every now and then the lion needs to roar and eat the feck out of the jackals. We whimper.

My point was more that Gold Coast had no incentive to trade 23 to Port. It wasn't as if Port had any leverage when it came to pick 23. Whereas Richmond had the leverage because Rioli wanted to get to Gold Coast and Hardwick wanted him big time. Put that together with the way Gold Coast swiped Hardwick away from Richmond and there's a lot of bad blood there.

If Port were dealing directly with Gold Coast on a trade whereby a player from Port wanted to get to the GC, then they may have had more leverage to get further involved in the pick 23 discussion.

Hardwick is still yet to address the most pressing issue at the SUNS - that is, their inability to correctly sing their club song.

🎶 We are the SUNS of the Gold Coast sky, we are the ones in the red, gold and blue

🎶 We are the SUNS of the Gold Coast sky, we are one in the red, gold and blue

As seemingly the only person in the world who is aware of this issue, I'm willing to offer my services as a consultant to help them work through it.

I’ll spew up if Butters ever plays for Geelong
I'd rather trade Butters to any other club for a future third than trade him to Geelong for every pick in the first round put together.

What incentive did Gold Coast have to give 23 to Port as opposed to 29?
Why didn't we give them an incentive? Say we're not doing the deal without it. They don't get Noble and they're stuck with Luko and Ratkins' unwanted contracts.

This is what you somehow don't seem to understand about trading. You just accept that we always have to bend over because some other club refuses to. Somehow it doesn't occur to you that maybe we could be the club who stands up for itself for a change. If that means some deals don't get done, so be it.

I'm going to put you on ignore now because 1) I understand a helluva lot more about the intricacies of the situation than you, and 2) I'm sick of you arguing about the same bloody viewpoints just from a tiny different angle.

We are oil and water on this and that is perfectly ok. Go and argue with someone who actually gives a shit.

Hahahaha. Ignore! You're just as gutless as our list management team

Tell us more about how Hinkley is going to get sacked any day now.

Given the choice of Rioli and Luko in your team but no Noble or Noble in your team but no Rioli or Luko I know what choice I’m taking.

How does tim membrey not have a contract?

It's official you have GWS flag under ya name now.

That makes you an official troll! 😜

I couldn’t bring myself to delete my account so did the dirty boom tish

Seriously **** the current version of Port Adelaide and **** the biased, corrupt and woke league.

He had some quite serious mental health issues but having no contract won’t help that so I genuinely hope he is ok.

On this trading stuff I stand with Chewy.

What I don’t understand is why Cripps and/or Davies tells you so much. The messaging is not resonating in here but I think that’s because fans see footy players as commodities moreso than actual people. Looking at my own circumstances and I’ve told employers I’m moving on and won’t return, and I’ve been asked to voluntarily leave employers and look elsewhere. This is real life.

The notion of holding someone to a contract when they don’t want to be around is mostly fanciful and highly dependent on the specifics of the scenario.

Collingwood are picking up membrey aren’t they?

Seems like a pretty handy player to secure as a DFA.

Thought the same about stringer getting traded to gws for basically nothing.

Must be more to it because I thought they were both one of the better players from saints and Essendon.
