They are some valid points .

Just a few rebuttals

1 chaz IMO was antifa and anti Trump democrats trying to destabilise the government.

2 race baiting - talking about white supremacists then saying " we know where your allegiances lie...." when I have never been racist. Clear race baiting.

3 . Police have basically been told to stand down during peaceful protests/riots even with arson, vandalism and looting going on

I would call it lack of response.

In comparison to yesterday's peaceful protest/riots the police did the same thing stood down . Then the guard was called like it should have been .

All I have been doing is pointing out that in the CHAZ situation the guard should have been called but the seattle major refused the guard and Trump was told this is a state issue and to keep out of it .

Different set of rules for which side of the political spectrum you are on .

Im not arguing race at all just media and government double standards that is all.

Other posters keep trying to evolve the argument to race but I'm not interested.
They were 2 totally different situations though. This was not trying to destabilise the government it was trying to overthrow it. Representatives of the government were effectivley held hostage in the seat of government. Of course the guard needed to be called in ASAP

Stop being disingenuous. The discussion is over the BLM protests. Cherry picking sections with no context is basically just trolling.
No the discussion is about why the national guard wasn't called on the Capital hill autonomous zone and why it was on the capital hill building .

I feel they should have been called both times .

But I can see why Trump would be hesitant after he was told to keep out of state issues and told it would be illegal by the major of seattle not 6 months earlier .

People are trying to evolve this into a race issue and I'm not interested.

Trump throws his "Patriots" under the bus

Seriously, what a sniveling coward. I mean, out of context, what he said was what should be said (ensuring election results aside) but in context of what he has done and been encouraging... How can people be fooled by this guy? Are they really that stupid?

Yeah, because that is why he didn't do it. He was worried about what he had been told before... all evidence to the contrary. I mean the guy encouraged this mob. He has never cared about what others had told him before. He was asked to call the national guard and didn't because this is what he encouraged and wanted, so it was left to Pence and others to do so. He refused to condemn them at the time, continued to encourage them for a day and now snivels and says it was wrong.

But hey, you can frame it as him being hesitant to keep out of "state" issues if that makes you feel better.

The core issue of the previous protests was race and police treatment based on race.

Putting your hands in your ears and screaming "I'm not interested in race" is like saying yesterday's "protest" wasn't about the election. It's a ridiculous standpoint and you well know it.

Im comparing actions not motivation.

Actions require response regardless of motivations

In concise summary, on Wednesday the leader of the executive branch incited a crowd to march on the legislative branch. The express goal was to demand that Congress and Vice President Mike Pence reject electors from enough states to deny Mr. Biden an Electoral College victory. When some in the crowd turned violent and occupied the Capitol, the President caviled and declined for far too long to call them off. When he did speak, he hedged his plea with election complaint.

This was an assault on the constitutional process of transferring power after an election. It was also an assault on the legislature from an executive sworn to uphold the laws of the United States. This goes beyond merely refusing to concede defeat. In our view it crosses a constitutional line that Mr. Trump hasn’t previously crossed. It is impeachable.

A really good summary (from a right wing media source no less!) and why comparisons to certain other riots are disingenuous at best.

That video is the least Trumpian speech he has ever made.

I wonder if his followers will be incensed that he threw the most “patriotic” of them under the bus, or will they treat it like a hostage video? Because it definitely had a bit of that feel about it.

Clearly was just trying to save his own a*se. It's far too late in the day for platitudes Donny.

That was the other vibe I got: “clearly he wants this speech to be his legacy, not all the shit he said in the lead-up to that.”

Though I notice he didn’t congratulate Biden, or even mention him by name. I wonder who was the last presidential candidate not to congratulate his opponent?

Tweets gone now, but the DoJ will always open a murder investigation if a police officer is killed on duty. There's a lot of entrenched processes to protect officers which recent times has shown the folly of some of these with certain officers believing they are near untouchable despite their actions.

Just a sample of some replies to his “concession “. Some are so far down the rabbit hole they’ll likely never find their way out

It's amazing he stuck to the written script.
