You've gotta laugh!!!!!! We were the first to lose our coach but because we are dicking around so much we will be left with the dregs. Oh and Bickley

It is  that people continue to make assumptions and continue to jump on what the media say as gospel

1. FFS how many times have the media got it wrong

2. Yes Neeld may be the BF punters favorite however he may not be the clubs preferred option

3. The AFC may not be Neeld's preferred option

I'll assess and just the process once I know the results and key reasons for selecting our next coach

And if we had made a hastey decision and not done our research thoroughly we would have been hauled over the coals as well.
Get real

I remember the Last year the day before the Primus decision both the HUN and Advertiser announced that Chris Scott had the job

People let's not jump at shadows, let's wait for official confirmation and wait to see who gets the AFC before assessing

Already this week

Lyon was a certainty for Melbourne
Burns was the front runner for Melbourne with CRaigy as his Asst
Now Neeld has the job

FWIW if Neeld lands at Melbourne and Burns is appointed as the AFC Coach we cant make an assumption that we missed our top priority as Burns has been strongly linked for some time and ill will wait until seasons end 2012 before making a qualified opinion

jesus people calm down.

1. Just becuase you want Neeld doesn't make him the right person for the job and doesn't meen there's not someone better out there

2. How do we know we haven't told him the jobs not his?

I think people are generally terrified that they're about the be served a whole big plate of 'more of the same'.

One of the reasons people wanted Neeld, other than his obvious quality resume, and high recommendations is that he represents a willingness to look outside our little circle.

If hes off the block, it just narrows the field further, with less attractive options sitting there. That isnt something that we could possibly be happy about.

How is it less attractive? In fact I think Burns is still the better option. He has played under Malthouse and now has coached along side a premiership coach who has also rebuilt a club from bottom to top 4 in one season.

If there was a field of candidates, and Neeld was one of the top options, then by removing him the field is clearly weaker.

So now its basically Burns left as an attractive option.

But what if we dont get Burns? There are two jobs other than ours to fill What are we left with?

I'm not really pissed about Neeld going to Melbourne - in the end I really don't know that much about him

what pisses me off, is that for some bizzare reason we are unable to make a decision within 8 weeks.

and if the story that we are waiting on Scott Burns is true - well that is nearly as disgraceful as the '04 debacle.
