Mark Nicholas- A Comm Games Gig?

Surely Mark Nicholas could get a gig with 9 at the Comm Games...

He is fast turning into one of my favourite sporting commentators, and I reckon he would be learned to commentate most sports, despite his cricketing background.

rotflmao That just reminded me of time when i was on a different time had the whole 'search nazi' incident where everyone would go of at everyone for making a topic that had been done before. It was so funny thinking about it now.

Anyway I totally agree Mark Nichollas would be a great announcer for the comm games he is very good. I think there is a problem that 7 has the games and Mark is a channel 9 commentatior. I may be wrong.

FWIW, Nicholas seems to be an intelligent, articulate commentator. I'm sure 9 could find a job for him at the games, especially at the telecast host desk.

Wouldn't he be back in England working for his Pommie network covering English cricket?
I think the Poms are in India around the time of the fake Olympics.It depends if the network covering the series is the one he works for.

I think he would a good job hosting, like what Tony Squires etc have done coming out of the host studio.

Channel 4 lost the cricket rights. And I dont think hes been emplyed by Sky there either.

Glad everyone shares my view of if him.Think he is terrific.
One thing he'll have to watch though is getting "too big for his boots".Showing a few signs of that.Hope someone mentions it to him.
There are too many large egos at Ch 9 to start ruffling feathers.

Since Nicholas has come my interest in watching the game with the Channel 9commentators has finished. He is a joke, he blows his load when ever someone hits a nice shot and everytime someone does something really good, he gets so excited that in between his squels of delight you can sort of make out what he is saying. I now mute the commentry and put on the old 774 coverage which is so much more interesting and cricket related. Their knowledge is greater and they have interesting stories to keep the listeners interested.

Yes i do watch it, but still no TV is still interesting enough with the ABC.

He isnt the best commentator , actually i reckon that none of them are worthy to be on the TV. But the ABC commentators wont be able to do the things they do on the radio as it will be always interrupted by ads, competitions and other stupid interuptions that come up when the cricket is on.

Nicholas acts like hes carrying a handbag at times. He brings too much poetic razz to the game. Its NOT a ballet...

I think Bill Lawry is the best commentator 9 have. Always the best in exciting periods of a match.
