But hey you guys are convinced Laycock and Ryder will be the dominent ruck duo when Laycock gets back and that Winderlich is now an elite AFL player. Grow your own dope - plant a Bomber supporter.

I find it pathetic that an opposition supporter comes into other clubs boards reads their material and uses it on the main board to ridicule.

Very low indeed.

please, stop it. Your embarassing your self.

only people embarassing themselves in this thread are bomber supporters who countinue to bite.

Lloyd will be remembered as a superstar, all time great? probaly not as there is at least 6 forwards who in history are already better then him.

Haha the bitterness from a small pocket of flogs in this thread is quite astounding.

Fact of the matter is, Lloyd IS a champion, no matter how much people want to slag him off. He has the body of work and the STATS to back it up. This is an indisputable fact. Argue semantics all you want but it doesn't take away from the fact that Lloyd is a CHAMPION of the game who will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame sooner rather than later once he retires.

Lloyd is hardly a diver, i dunno where this myth comes from but he barely dives compared to alot of other players. Compare his diving with Selwood and its negligible but with Selwood its seen as puting his head over the ball, whilst Lloyd is a cheat.

He is an out and out champion, and has a perfect record off the field. The hatred comes from the fact that he wears his heart of his sleeve and that so many flogs are jealous of his success.

Selwood may dive but he actually continues on with the game as Lloyd just stares at the umpire with a dumb look on his face.

Notice no bomber sheep disputed this list. That's just 25 players Lloyd wouldn't hold a candle to. There's shitloads more. Voss, Buckley, Dermie, Robert Harvey, Ablett jnr... we could be here all night!
Oh no wait, Lloyd's kicked more goals than most of them players, therefore he must be a better player.

Why are you still here? You have embarrassed yourself enough. Move on.

Of course Lloyd will reach 1000 goals. Play enough games and most forwards will.

That settles it then. There is an official cap that stats there can only be a maximum of 6 all time great forwards in the history of the game.

Some of the posts in this thread are ridiculous.

A lot of people have a problem with considering current players as all time greats due to the fact that the longer players are retired the higher they are regarded.

You can bet your bottom dollar that in twenty years time there will be people saying that it is ridiculous to compare player x (superstar of that comp at that time) to an all time great such as Lloyd.

Hard to say what people will say in 20 years time. But if Lloyd breaks 1000, he will be counted among the great goal kickers of the game, that is a something that will come to pass because those who record the history and commentate on the past and current players are not going to discredit him because of diving and "googly eyes" That is reservrd for idiots.

To the ones not accepting that Lloyd deserves the status of Champion. Look Champion up in the dictionary FFS. Lloyd epitimises the very meaning of the word on many levels. He is an individual champion (coleman medals), he has won the competition (premiership), and he has fought for, and led the fight for a common cause (EFC Captain).

He ticks about every box in the definition of champion. Legend however is a differen story, and most Essendon supporters wuld not label him a Legend of the game.

Lloyd should reach the 1000 goal mark. It might take 400 games, but so what, it'd still make him an all-time great goalkicker/full-forward with an average of 2.5.

I will give you one thing. You are very stubborn. You make embarrassing comments one after the other yet still keep coming back for me.

Currently on 911 goals from 261 games. So 89 goals left before he hits 1000 career goals. Will get it before he plays his 300th game, which happen in 2011. Not out of the woods totally to get it this year either.

You think Matthew Lloyd can kick 89 goals in the next 13 games. Uhhhhhhh, no buddy

Matthew Lloyd is not an all time great.

Ridiculous comment. He's 8th on the goalkickers list and climbing.

Absolutely exactly what I think.

The Hall of fame discussions threads made it abundantly clear to me that that reputations keep growing a long time after players retire.

What Lloyd has achieved stands up against anyone in any era. If he isn't an all time great, there will probably never be another all time great because the standards are too high.
