It's a superdraft because of the talent.
No draft is a super draft. Can guarantee you this draft will be seen roughly the same as any other draft in 5 years.

Every single time a draft is called "super" it without fail is not super in hindsight

Surprisingly circumspect from manure.

SEN’s Sam McClure reported the offer from the Bombers comes in well below the other offers in terms of dollars.

“He’s got to be respected for picking the deal of the four that is financially significantly the lowest. He’s gone there for his footy, certainly not for coin,”

“It’s going to be six or seven years, it’s not going to be near a million dollars, which was the offer from the other three clubs.”

80% more than Gov?

Gov must be playing for free eh Jeffcrowe ;) :p

In part true. In part false. It's a super draft for SA clubs seeing 4 top 20 talents has not happened at all since our existence started. The rest though, it's a strong draft, but not in the super category. The lack of production from Victoria stopped that from being a thing.

Now you’re twisting the truth

The deal from Saints was reported as 1.2M which I was using as comparison to Gov 750k

It even says there the Essendon deal is well below , what’s your point ?

Distraction distraction

You think Gov is worth pick 4-7 , there isn’t many experts that agree

I see a lot of "would this combination of teens picks get us in the Top 5" posts.

This is a superdraft. If we want Top 5 we'd need to give up 4 picks inside 20 to be even a remote chance. And a List Manager would never do that, nor should he.
Aren’t Freo chasing 2 firsts for Lobb & Hogan?

This draft in my eyes works like this.
Top 8 (Kings, Luko, Rankine, Smith, Walsh, Rozee, Bailey) are a level above the next group which is pretty even out till around 20.

So what's the go with him ?

I guess he wasn't good enough to be any more then a rookie pick, but that's the player in reference if you want to have a quick suss of highlights.

So your argument now is that you think we shouldn't judge the value of assets by their current asset?

And you think this is a cogent point in your favour?
For one, I dont believe Gov is worth a single digit pick in this draft. That is a belief shared by most media and draft experts.

Pick 13 and a guy who will would be in our R1 side next season is fair value.

Carlton send picks 26 and 28 to Sydney for pick 13. We get pick 13 and McAdam for McGovern. We also swap our 2019 3rd round pick for Carlton's 2019 5th rounder
If that's the deal I'm fine with that. I always said I thought McGovern would be valued around pick 10-15 but that I felt we'd expect McAdam (the AFL gift) to actually get it done. A pick swap is no huge deal and occurred last year in the Gibbs trade so makes sense they'd go that route again.

I listened for 10 mins and a Crows supporter rang about Gov trade. They just kept saying his contract status meant nothing as we want him gone!! I cannot recall any AFC staff saying that?

It’s a theory tailored to suit an agenda. There has never been any evidence it’s true but 1 maybe 2 people on here keep repeating it like it’s not only true but consensus fact

Geelong traded pick 44 for Krueger, us trading 41 for McAdams should be about the right value, as both players are/were expected to be taken around the late 30s to early 40s, so easier to spend the pick in advance than hope and wait
