Traded Mitch McGovern [traded to Carlton in a three-way trade involving Sydney and McAdam]

Yep... as Hamish O said when asked off the cuff about McGovern a few weeks ago.along the lines of... “it’s not often other teams chase your players and throw up picks in the 5-10 range, so when it happens you have to look at it”...

13, or 14, alone won’t do it... maybe with Mcadam thrown in it might.. but mcadam is a massive risk..
Who is Hamish O?

You think it’s me being naive? Lol

The fact that you think a player that has made it very public that he is unhappy at his club and wants out, will be a good asset to maintain is laughable.

Eventually you will end up trading him out or he will leave when his contract is up, but make no mistake about it, this year will be the highest value you will get offered for him if he stays at the crows.

When did they start handing out crystal balls to 12 year olds?

Fine his price is lowered (not that I agree but wtf)

It's lowered from a premium because he is contracted for the next two years. Please don't tell me that doesn't matter either.

So that makes it a fair value at the absolute lowest. Not a discount.

And fine, yes it’s lowered from a premium as you say.

But if Adelaide wants to make a deal happen, then they have to look at the available suitors and choose between what is available for him.

It’s all very well to say that we won’t let McGovern go for less than ‘x’ pick, but if the available suitors don’t have said picks to give then that also affects the price you could get for him.

Sort of like trying to sell a house when the available suitors don’t have the money to meet your price.
You either accept a discount out of necessity just to get the house off your hands, or you hold it for longer and hope someone else comes along to offer you something better.

In this case, Mitch has declared he wants out and has nominated Carlton, Adelaide would prefer to not have a player on their list that doesn’t want to be there, so they can either accept what Carlton has to offer or refuse it and hooks into Mitch hoping that they can find a better offer from someone later

No, you have someone who doesnt want to be there. We are the beneficiaries of alleged culture issues at Adelaide.

The rumours of us chasing him whilst he was contracted this year have all but been quashed. He will also be reportedly on similar money at Carlton so its not a payday he's chasing. Whats he running from?
All that is irrelevant he has a contract what don’t you understand, when you want something you have to work for it.... we don’t want you to want him 3 other clubs are keen he’s yours to lose.

You see, your culture is to always take the short-cut .....seek the cheap option ....that's why you've never recovered from your sanctions

We've been to a GF since our two years of draft sanctions .....what's your excuse ?
No excuse
We’ve been shit for years. Do you think we don’t know that?
All fwd looking for me

Im thinking you either take the two second rounders or a second round and a player and call it a day. You cant keep waving around a contract that wasnt signed with his manager present.

Oh yeah sure, because players that are very unhappy at their club and don’t believe in the club anymore end up having better seasons afterwards huh lol

Use some common logic doofus :)

But you Carlton fans have made all of this rubbish up in your heads... the majority of these rumours have come from you...

Not one of you has provided a drop of evidence that proves beyond doubt that Mitch will sit out next year (and I suppose the year after too!) if a trade doesn’t occur. Not one f***ing iota of evidence apart from your wishful thinking and straw clutching.

And all the other shit about mitch’s Happiness, a camp, how much Carlton are offering, Don Pyke’s thoughts, how long Carlton have been chasing him.. blah, blah, blah is all just unsubstantiated media/BF rumours and crap dribbled up from mitch’s manager who is well know for being a grubby little liar and ****** clueless when it comes to what it’s going to take to trade a player.

The only thing that matters is what adelaide are willing to accept in a trade for THEIR contracted player... you know it, I know it, everyone knows it... it’s that basic but some Carlton supporters are in total and utter denial over it.

Ffs, fine.
If you can get one or more other clubs to offer up what you are asking for him, then we either have to match or better their offers or pull out of the race.
Deal?

Seeing as how Mitch has nominated Carlton, I’m thinking other clubs wouldn’t be throwing the kitchen sink at someone who has let everyone know who he prefers to play with

And don’t forget bearded clam that if a player refuses to play for Adelaide he can not play footy for any league in the country not good for his worth, no player is stupid enough to do this.

#13 would include steak knives ......as it'll drop to #14 due to Lynch compo
Your right. Steak knives back to Carlton. Sydney has pick 12 btw. Pick 13 allowing for Lynch compo. It has been said before, but how the hell can Adelaide supporters not get the fact that all the reports are saying the quality in this years draft is significantly better than any draft for a while. Pick 13ish is bloody good compo for Mitch (even when contracted)for anyone who understands even the basics of player trading. It would be like Adelaide getting pick 7 or 8 for him in previous two or three drafts. Not a complicated point and probably about time Crows supporters at least acknowledged that pick 13 - 16 far from nothing at the trade table this year.

You only have to look at the history of trades, a team generally pays overs for a contracted player....even sos said this him self.

And Bickley reporting the mcgovern was coerced into signing his contract without his manager present is something that his manager has cooked up too? Lol

But you Carlton fans have made all of this rubbish up in your heads... the majority of these rumours have come from you...

The claims of player unrest following the camp came from (Vic) media.
The claims of him signing a contract under duress came from (Adel) media.
The claims of him wanting out and cited a number of reasons and confirmed the camp was part of that decision came from his manager.

What other rumours do you need verified?
