All they can do is making the final result look a little more respectable.

This has been a pretty embarrassing performance from NZ, especially after whitewashing India.

About the only positive for us is that it is raining but it will need to keep raining for a couple more days for us to save this match.

Out of interest - who would be the next cab off the rank for the test wicketkeeper spot?

Not sure, Seifert has been our keeper in some of our limited overs matches so maybe him.

Their 12th Man R. Ain has come onto the field with the drinks

Ravindra is becoming frustrating.

Has talent in spades, but keeps get himself out with rash shots that aren't there to be made. Needs to find more impulse control on the test stage if he's going to be someone to build your batting around.
Him and Bethell have the same barber

At least Mitchell and Blundell are showing some fight and adding some respectability to the score.

They have put together a couple of big partnerships against England before but it will need to be bigger than either of those ones.

That's a fabulous run a ball 100 by Blundell with his back against the wall...Could of quite possibly been dropped if he failed in this innings

Not dissimilar to his hundred at the MCG a few years ago with his side doing absolutely nothing around him.

Stokes will probably feel some validation keeping bashir on and getting that wicket but probably owes more to arse than anything else. He’s going at about 45 since they left England.

He’s going to get murdered in Australia

he's a 20 year old spinner for a side that barely plays on the fourth let alone fifth day of the match. lots of work to do but i think he's coming along.

I just don’t see, aside from a) his youth, and b) his build, what they see in him. And the fact that he bowls spin, of course. It feels to me like they’re trying to force him to be a prodigy that he just isn’t

how are they trying to force him to be a prodigy? he plays his role. no one is out there actively talking him up as anything. his build, his youth, and his spin bowling... what else is there to select a player on?
