There is a common umpire where in R1 Cerra got 3 votes and in R9 North vs Port where Amon got 3 votes.

The umpires listed for the R1 Tigers v Carlton have been removed from the afl site.
Rd 1 - Rosebury, Gavine, Williamson (Em: Harris)
Rd 9 - Gavine, Hosking, Toner (Em: Porter)

So you're thinking Gavine?

Edit: Wait, Amon only got 1 vote in Rd 9. 3 went to Wines and 2 went to Powell-Pepper

Will probably be obvious who it is when we see who's been dropped going into next season.
I think its fairly obvious who it is already.

An AFL umpire is one of four men who have been arrested in relation to an investigation into suspicious betting activity linked to this year’s Brownlow Medal.

The AFL said there was no information suggesting the awarding of votes was impacted by the suspicious betting activity, “as the allegations relate solely to the distribution leaking or improper communication of the 3,2,1 voting outcomes post some specific matches during the season to unauthorised persons”.

from that article - “Post-game, the Brownlow votes are sealed and stored in a secure off-site location and not opened until they are delivered on stage on Brownlow night. The sealed vote cards are audited throughout the season by KPMG.”

So why in 2021 did alot of money come onto Wines at the last minute to make him favourite?

Something dodgy considering both were related to Port players?

Pell has now been named in a number of places.

AFL umpire Michael Pell questioned by sports corruption cops over alleged Brownlow vote leak

AFL umpire Michael Pell is expected to be stood down after it emerged he is among four people arrested over suspicious Brownlow Medal betting.

The Herald Sun understands the inquiry which has entangled Pell relates to allegations of betting on votes from multiple rounds this season, his first officiating full matches in the big league.

He was one of four men arrested on Monday morning by detectives from the Victoria Police Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit.

The 32-year-old was interviewed in relation to allegations he engaged in conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome.

The maximum for the alleged offending is 10 years imprisonment.

Police said they were investigating how many matches may have had votes released and the size of bets involved.

The Brownlow spot betting market only opens in the period before the count and round-by-round wagering is not allowed during the season.

Round 11: Port Adelaide v Essendon SPP 3 VOTES O COACHES VOTES

Round 15: Port Adelaide v West Coast Amom 3 VOTES 0 COACHES VOTES

These two stick out.

Round 11 game where SPP got 3 votes for a 15 disposal 1.4 game. SPP not mentioned in the AFL app report or listed in the best players.

Rozee listed as Port's 2nd best with 24 and 1.1, 0 votes but 8 coaches votes.

Round 15 Port game where Amon got 3 votes, Rozee 1. Rozee had 24 and 2 goals in a 2 point win. Amon wasn't even mentioned the in AFL app match report or listed in the best for Port.

So how did he possibly know? Has to be more to it, although fully expect the AFL to sweep it under the carpet as quickly as possible

They’re trying. Since this story broke we’ve had a Dusty Martin controversy cleared by the AFL, a fixture leak saying Carlton/Richmond will be the opener, and a story about Tasmania possibly pulling sponsorship from Hawthorn in a push for their own team.

But these stories coming out today are a coincidence I’m sure.

Not to mention, the big journos have barely said anything.

Is the AFL only upset because one of their betting partners got burnt.

I find it hard to believe this is the 1st dodgy umpire...
