lol what?
Every team we harass and out run plays terribly the next week. Then lose their momentum and become an also ran.

By extension this "makes us a poor team", as those sides don't go on to be world beaters. That's the logic, at least. I don't really agree with it. Side performance varies week to week and I have little doubt our pressure game is tiring sides out for the next week.

Don’t forget the wet weather would had tired out the teams as well as the physical gameplay
And for Brisbane, a smaller pre-season like us after 2022. The Lions aren't looking that fit this year. They have also been very inefficient. No Ashcroft or Coleman. Losing early games then having to attempt a recovery. These things add up. It happened to us last year, although we salvaged things to go 5-3 before further stacks of injuries destroyed us.

It is exhausting playing Geelong this year.

We have the most tackles, second most pressure acts and the second most intercepts in the league, and have proven to be deadly on fast transitions.
True, but us playing tonight after that wet slog may have been really challenging too.

The six teams we've played so far have won a collective 9 games out of 37.

Of the 9 teams they've beaten their opponents have won 21 out of 58, (21 out 52 if you remove duplicates)

I think it be taking too much credit if we claimed it to our credit, they're just shit. Fortunately we play 5 of them again.

Who knows it’s a possibility, I hope with the inclusion that it’s planned to inject fresh legs but with Guthrie first game back I have some concerns
someone said he's been ready for weeks

I do think we're playing a sizable part in how teams are backing up the next week at least. Then if you have a 2 loss streak, you are all out of momentum.

But sure, I acknowledge your point. We'll still have only had 2 games at home after this weekend. Long live us being the disruptors of other clubs on their home deck in the meantime.

GWS -- a really likeable team. If we don't do it again, I'm hoping they get up this year. Massive game next week v Swans.
I still remember last year when I said all aboard the GWS train (when our season was cooked) and you said something like "where...to not playing finals?". Needless to say they have won you over since. ;)

Edit: here!

A Meow never forgets.

Always loved Toby , their song, but yes, now, they have won me over. I do recall our discussions back then. They won me over after your comments, and watching them more

For obvious reasons they were always very talented. And from Sheedy they had a better platform than the Suns ever had. But Leon Cameron wasn't the right man for thereafter and their brilliance quickly wilted when the heat got turned up at various stages of the next few years. They used to be dreadful on the road. But slowly their culture has landed on them as a daring, hard working team who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. And their veterans who have remained from the early days have driven that.

So I agree...as much as you can ever get behind an expansion team mopping up all the talent for years and years...they have ended up good to watch. And they have something about them, which ultimately Gold Coast are still searching for.
