Biggest positive- For years, we've played like a talented side that won one of the all-time great grand finals and is quite pleased their legacy is already written. Ballsy wins like this could be the spark of a new era. fu** five-year plans, let's go!
I hope you're right, but today wasn't that different from our wins over St Kilda in 2020 and Richmond last year, and neither of those led on to much. Third time lucky?

No changes unless forced (Edwards) :nogood:

Shuey, Yeo, Kelly can all wait. Go run a game out in the WAFL and make sure you can get through unencumbered before changing this team.

Credits can fu** off.

Card declined. No Bueno. Insufficient funds.

We’ll make #LightWork of everyone from here on out. I can’t see how we’ll lose the flag from here, honestly - we’re pretty much destined for it after today.

Nope. Willie absolutely should have a club ban on being in the defensive 50. Forward 50 Willie kicks goals and sets up his teammates; back 50 Willie gives away free kicks and 50m penalties.
Agree I am only new at this. How do I start a thread about the supplementary dockers Johanson, Broadband and Chamberlain.

Naish's kicking Is the best I've seen since Lewis Jetta left the club, bullet risky passes that hit an eagle on the chest every time. It was brilliant today don't think he missed a target all day. O'Neill really excelled with extended minutes in the midfield. Keep him in there maybe play Shuey and yeo off the half back flanks when they come back

Good coaching by Simpson too it has to be said. The corridor use was noticable. More than that though was the use of Ryan out of the square. Great move against Collingwood. Ryan didn't kill it but the move cost them a good key forward match up and allowed Kennedy, Waterman and Darling to eventually swing it our way.

Elliott seemed very well held (I know he got injured late) and seemed to be pushed into the midfield to get more involved. Wasn’t able to tell who was primarily responsible for defending him but it seemed like it was Witherden? If Witherden is locking down players and providing his kick then he’s gonna be quite the asset for us.

+ XON. 24 disposals, 5 clearances, 4 tackles. A complete game from him finally, was breaking tackles like a wild man. Loved his game and I'd written him off before today. I want to see if he can keep this going now!

+ Naish. Just attacking the corridor so bloody well, he's going to play a big part of WC new game plan. Has been super consistent since R1 too. Surely he CANNOT be dropped for Gaff or Sheed if he keeps it up.

+ Willie. So creative, just adds that talisman spark the team so badly needs. AFL seriously f*cked up depriving the fans of his magic last 2 seasons, too harsh a penalty.

+ Gov and Barrass. Absolutely immense. Barrass contested marking is next level when he's 'on'.

+ Landgon. Was facepalming his form early on in the game, but he had some good footskills throughout and setup some great goals.

+ Hugh Dixon. Just keeps his feet in the contest and provides great 2nd and 3rd efforts. Gets some good clearances, and knows how to make an impact.

+ Snagging an improbable win, against the odds and against hometown umpiring, albeit we did get a couple of lucky ones late in the game. Love the fact we did it by making the most if our opportunities too.

+ Even spread of contributors, no passengers today.

Can see this win really giving the team some belief now, awesome win!!

  • Gov having a field day taking marks for fun. Barrass not far behind
  • Second tier mids stood up and all played a role when needed
+Dixon and NN did well against Grundy.
+Naishs skills were sublime. Have me Jetta vibes
+XONs and Langdons best game for the club
+Willie. Nuff said

  • Couple of poor mistakes from kick ins. Gov and Hurn were the culprits if I recall
  • What I would give to have Shep instead of Witherden

In the end the Pies in inaccuracy and our accuracy was the difference. Happy to bank the four points though.

Witherden games funny. You got people that thought he was putrid and you got a few people that he was awesome. I kinda sit in the middle but interesting how polarising his game was
Interestingly he was our highest-rated player. Has some brain fades, but he is very productive. Hopefully it all clicks for him, could be a very good player.
