He was good, his problem is that he does this for 3-4 games after he comes back from the WAFL but then gets comfortable and relapses badly, particularly against good teams. He needs to keep his effort up 100% of the time.

As opposed to all our other players who really rise to the challenge of playing the better teams.

Robbo had Elliott Yeo as one of his 'likes' in his column.

Didn't go into much detail as probably didn't watch the game, but good to see anyway.

Extraordinary that the game by Yeo was basically what you get from Fyfe every week, be amazing if Yeo could keep up that level of output.

I am one who has been unhappy with Masten - but that started last year not this year.

Apart from his pointing and inability to make a tackle, I get frustrated with his inability to put on a shepherd. In fact that is a criticism to the team in general. A player who cannot tackle or shepherd is one I am never going to warm to. Playing like Jane, looking like Tarzan!

There were a few instances on Friday that were calling out for a shepherd for the player with the ball when the players tried to give an outlet handpass option. Examples - 3rd quarter 3 on 1 with Cripps with ball at CHF and 2 other Eagles streaming past. One should of laid a shepherd, but fumble ended up with a point. About three instances at the Subiaco end with Sinclair and Masten being the culprit of stopping the run.

Hawthorn are drilled in pass off and then follow on for a shepherd. This would give us much more time and make our players look faster and ensure their passes are cleaner.

I guess it is not one of their must do's so what isn't counted isn't considered important. That said there were a couple of shepherds late in the game that made a difference.
