Autopsy Positives and Negatives vs Hawthorn

Very difficult to decide who our man of the match was. Darling crucial with his 5 goals, but Shuey almost single handedly dragged us across the line in the final term. Very heroic performance by Shuey with all other mids having sub-par games. Sheed was mostly decent though.

+Another win at the MCG. Are we getting close to most consecutive wins by a non-Victorian side there yet?
+Alan's mark
+Ryan's goal
+Naitanui's first game back a success

-Hutchings' injury
-Not demolishing the Hawks, but I guess we're saving that for round 23 ;)
-Gaff went to ground too often
-Redden below average
-Kennedy being scragged with impunity all day and ultimately going goalless

Loves the G.

Its getting a bit old now of you guys kicking goals in the last minute at the G to win a game.;)

How about something different? 10 goals down at HT?

With back to back home finals, almost a lock, you guys are in the box seat to win the flag again.

Impressive. :thumbsu:

+ Getting close to sewing up top 4.
+ Another game that'll go down in the annals of history of this team just knowing how to win in ridiculous circumstances since 2017.
+ NicNat got through unscathed
+ Defence held up pretty well without our two big stars.
+ Everyone's whipping boy Nelson was good.

- Was very noticeable how much we missed Hutchings. There was barely a whimpey out of his opponent in the first half and that all changed when he went off. Love him playing a role as a forward tagger when warranted as it frees up a spot in the midfield/wing.
- Thought we actually lacked a lot at ground level today. Was expecting Rioli and Ryan and to a lesser extent Cameron to have a bigger impact in the forward line. Hardly ever saw them timing a run past JD/Kennedy in a marking contest.
- The amount of times we wasted possessions going sideways instead of just getting the ball inside 50. Didn't seem like smart wet weather footy.
- Chair was sat on for most of the game, didn't have much impact.

If you go for the West Coast Eagles you are a blessed campaigner.

We’re going back to back.

+ Another gutsy fight back. When will people stop doubting us? Played the entire second half down a man on the bench, in the sheeting rain, at the G. Ran over the top of the Hawks.
+ Jack Darling, unreal. Five goals and brought the winner to ground.
+ Shuey. Best fourth quarter he’s played, and that’s saying something given the Crows game.
+ Nic Nat’s back. Managed minutes, had to push through in the late stages of the fourth because of where the game was. He gives us an enormous lift.
+ Jetta. A few head scratchers but ballsy decision to go in the final minute and it paid off.
+ Liam Ryan, exceptional.
+ Nelson and Shep worked their tails off.
+ In: Barrass, McGovern

- JK’s goal streak is snapped :(
- Another game with three quarters and an enormous let down. Could have done us in the end. Needs addressing.
- Hutchings injury. That consecutive game list claims another victim, top five all done in the last three weeks.
- Rioli and Cameron quiet on a day you’d assume would suit them better than some others.

There’s some criticisms warranted but let the praise flow, that’s yet another gutsy statement win. If we make top four, I wouldn’t think any final would be beyond us.

4th quarter GWS 2016 stays #1 for me. but the fact that its even a discussion is ridonk; must be going close to the best big game, team-lifting player in the game

Great win boys

Freo supporters celebrating Hutchings injury

“Too soft, pinged his hamstring”.

Given their history with Stephen Hill and Harley Bennell, is that really the best card to play?
