Still not seeing that number anywhere on that document. But spreadsheets aren't really my forte.

Weirdly, 342496 is the exact number of people that visited Mackay's six aquatic facilities.

Just add the 2023 column for all crimes in eachstate. Table 9

Ah, ok cheers. Seems it covers victims of 'selected crimes', not all.

One crime could have 10 minor victims, and 10 crimes could have 1 major victim each.
The data weights these as the same thing - 10 victims.

It's hard to find like for like comparison - each news article harvests the data differently, with quite different results.

Multiple QLD pollies cited the same victims of crime stat on this weeks Q&A FWIW.

Interesting, Queensland has more theft and attempted murder than NSW, but NSW has far more assaults and sexual assaults.

The Premier has been forced to flee from a Caloundra polling booth after being chased down by an Independent candidate. Candidate Mike Jessop is facing serious weapons and stalking charges and has recently been released on bail following an eight-week stint in jail on remand. Earlier this year, police alleged Mr Jessop was found with a shovel, axe, gloves, duct tape, ropes, a cadaver bag and camouflage clothing in his car.

Ah, Queensland. Truly Australia's Florida.

As compared to the labor abortion scare campaign.
It was a gift from heaven to the ALP that piece of KAP idiocy, compounded by the LNP not squashing it stone dead the second it reared its head.
It might actually make a difference.
Why on Earth would you potentially alienate 50% of the electorate? Idiocy.
And even bigger idiocy by the LNP to not squash it instantly.

Not disagreeing. But its still the exact definition of a scare campaign as changing abortion policy isnt even on the menu for the libs. Yet labor are making it out to be a major policy difference between them and the libs on every political ad.

Yep, but you sure can't blame them for playing the cards they were dealt.

Scare campaigns are part and parcel of elections, on all sides, you'll just have to excuse the rabid Gen Z'ers who've never seen an election before.
