66 game rebuild I was all for it, and its been over 66 games now and still no improvement, same mistakes, same shit week in week out, year in year out.

Some said we need time to blend etc lol, if we haven;t blended by now we never will, this club is finished. This is what happens when we are just content to keep getting high draft picks, we are a disgrace.

Oh come on please, the '66 game rebuild' has gone according to plan. The team has been completely rebuilt.

The current group ARE going to be 'the team'. As far as im concerned this is our first real season the last three were cleanouts and drafting.

I know this is blasphemous around here, but SOS' recruiting is starting to turn a bit sour.

Zero small forwards
Zero genuine rucks(TDK a combo and also project)
No one to help Cripps
Dow and LOB in the first round, one can't kick, the other can't tackle.

I think we have been sold a load of shit to be honest.

SOS just does these tricky draft moves to deflect from the fact the list is still shit

But would we be a significantly better team by scraping through today?

I don't think so. This list isn't ready, it's immature and has holes in it.
Or maybe the coach is ****.

Maybe he picks unbalanced teams and players like Casboult who are completely useless.

Maybe he picks teams that contain 4 key forwards and then plays Pagans paddock with a small mid playing his 4th game.

Maybe he only picks one stoppage player and then is surprised when we lose the stoppages every single week.

That really was an abysmal game. GC butchered so many chances.

But in a race to the bottom and who can screw up worse - always bet on blue.

Our passion for fluffing opportunities and handing the ball back is all-time, Hall of Fame levels.

Need psychologists at club, not coaches, to teach these keen athletes how to calmly assess options and make sound decisions, at least occasionally.

You just cannot create that many chances and torch 90% of them and expect to win anything. We play like we know, deep down, we are going to lose.

One day it will be better. Right now it’s disgustingly bitter and very very bad.

Shattered.

There are no other words.

Also (and not blaming this for the loss as both sides copped it)
Worst officiated game ever?
Agree we saw the D grade Umpires today both should be dropped and never seen again, both sides copped some deplorable decisions and either side could point a finger at game costing decisions

No coach can.

But when do you decide a coach is a problem?

By that logic you might as well never have coaching changes

Hang him for selection, game plan, being too in love with the players, not motivating them, not holding his line coaches accountable, being too scared to drag a player who is making too many bad decisions etc etc

And don’t give me this wins don’t matter bullshit either. What a crock of shit. How long do you think you can sell that sort of bullshit to someone like Cripps?
Exactly.

Been saying this for years - fostering a losing culture is going to kill the club in the end.

Can't blame the umpires, we got away with so much today.

There's no point sending Dow to the VFL. Playing against Coburg won't magically teach him how to kick. We've drafted a player with poor disposal, we have to live with it.

We're lucky Lobbe doesn't give away 10 frees per game. His ruck craft is entirely based around grabbing his opponent's shoulders and upper arms.

Murphy sadly summed himself up beautifully in the last 5 secs.

Having nobody in the goalsquare, in an AFL game, with one kick in it, and a stoppage inside our defensive 50. It's... absolutely mind-blowing.

Am now genuinely scared Cripps is going to try and get out when he can.

I don't see us getting better this season or next.

Cripps will be well within his right to explore FA and request a trade.

If we start off poorly next season, watch the WA teams come knocking.

The pressure will come later in the year if our form continues and particularly if Adelaide improves. Handing over #1 to the Crows will cause some pain if it get's that far.

They won't point the finger at SOS so if SOS doesn't back Bolts in he's cooked.

Of course it would. Winning always changes things.
Couldn’t agree more, we win today it’s all farts and butterflies. In front for 85? Minutes. Shoulda coulda woulda but it wasn’t meant to be.

I think now its time to make statements.
We have kennedy ready to go. Plays a similar role to dow. Say sorry mate but we dont accept that level of skill and composure. we will support you in improving, but go back to the ressies and work on it. Earn your spot back.

JSOS is a better option than LoB at this stage. Same thing, we like your athletic attributes, but head back to Northen and work on finding the pill and your tackling.

Time that guys at this club learn that playing isnt a god given right even if u have natural talent.

Marchbank and Plow in similar boats. Both have good traits, but foot skills well below AFL standard.

The unfortunate thing is that we don’t have enough players to bring in at the expense of those exhibiting substandard disposal. There’s a genuine case to drop at least 8 players that played today.
I agree with making a statement but I’d like any change to have an overall positive impact.
We are clearly deficient in clearances and that is a strength of Kennedy - I agree he needs to come in and Dow needs time to work on his disposal and decision making. His error in the last 30 seconds wouldn’t have mattered if he was able to hit his teammates with regulation passes that would’ve resulted in shots on goal.
LOB again - section making poor. We are not good enough to carry players with poor decision making skills. He goes out.
On form JSOS and Kennedy come in. Kreuzer had a really good return game and he will surely come in to exploit English in the ruck.
The rest of our players in the VFL today were either average or meh.
Newman’s foot skills are a worry, as are plowman’s and marchbank’s. Unfortunately we don’t have Doc, Williamson and Macreadie to come in as replacements.

Here's my truth - some of you know this.

I suffer from a disability that affects one in a million - cauda equina syndrome.

Cauda equina syndrome (CES) is a condition that occurs when the bundle of nerves below the end of the spinal cord known as the cauda equina is damaged. Signs and symptoms include low back pain, pain that radiates down the leg, numbness around the anus, and loss of bowel or bladder control.

To be perfectly honest, I'm post-cauda equina syndrome (I've had a successful operation on my L5 - discectomy/laminectomy). My nerves are still severely damaged (up to two years to heal if they ever do) and every day is a genuine struggle. Some days are much worse than others. I can be hospitalized at a moment's notice. I had a big family day yesterday and family comes first. By the end of yesterday, I was in agony. I got to bed and woke up at 4:00am in even worse pain. My partner drove me to the hospital where I had my surgery. They put me right in (I'm now on a list whereby my care is considered critical). They wanted to keep me until tomorrow as that's when my second outpatient's appointment is. I declined because this is our only Queensland game this year. They reluctantly agreed to let me leave hospital.

Against doctors orders, my girlfriend got me to the game. I shouldn't have been there but the Blues are a huge part of my life. There's no way I was missing our only game here this year. It was a poor game with poor skills, I can deal with that. I can even deal with losing the game. It's the how we lost and the why we lost that is so utterly heartbreaking.

There is nothing redeemable or positive in that performance on or off of the field. It's an embarrassment that our eighteen-year-old prized recruit is arguably our smartest player (I'd rate Cripps before him but Walsh is something else). So many half efforts today that resulted in nothing. So many coachable skill errors all over the park. Even more simpleminded errors. Zero composure by veterans, in the end, to lock down the play. My girlfriend turned to me in the last 30-40 seconds and said we're going to win. I kept telling her that they would get the goal. It was only a matter of time. Probably 20 seconds. Twenty seconds.

Some of you will claim that it wasn't Bolton's gameplan to kick it to Gibbons forward of the ball. Perhaps it wasn't. But it happened too much of today and should have been corrected. It wasn't. There was no attempt to correct it. That's on Bolton. When we were playing well today we were playing through the centre of the ground. Then why did we revert to playing on the boundary line for most of the last quarter? It was the same shit as last week against the Swans.

Accountability. That is all that I ask. Accountability among the playing group on and off the field. Accountability to the coaching staff for making smart decisions throughout the day. We lost today because we're not accountable. Neither the 22 on the field or the coaching staff.

If changes aren't made this week starting with the coach you can forget about the reset and rebuild. We're heading in the wrong direction. Expecting the club to win a game in the first month of the season should be expected in the FOURTH year of the reset. We traded our first-round draft pick. That trade demonstrates that the club itself placed expectations on itself. Therefore, somebody or somebodies absolutely must be held accountable.

I'm probably taking myself off of this thing for a few days. I'm just gutted. Absolutely gutted. This is the lowest I've felt about the club since SOS arrived. I just can't see the forward momentum at the club anymore.

They tried to get Martin from GC and Pickett is injured

Ruck they need another project but I'm letting them get away with it while kruezer has a couple of years left.

Tried to get Rockliff and Shiel and will try again this year.

Shit draft in hindsight, sadly it come in the middle of our rebuild but the drafts either side have been good.

SOS knows the list weaknesses and is working to rectify them, I'd be directing my disappointment at the coaching who wanted this team to chip chip hold onto the ball when we had control early in the last instead of kicking a couple of goals to ice the game.
I blame the players

Sorry I honestly do not understand one word of that
Sorry I'll try again.

I doubt our midfield intentionally targeted Gibbons, they were just rushed with their kicks. It's no wonder they were rushed, Gold Coasts small forwards pushed up into the contest & helped apply pressure. Since we barely had any small forwards to do the same we were outnumbered.

We’ve been calling for patience for too long. Enough is enough. It needs to happen now. I’m ****ing sick of losing. Clearly Carlton arent. I will blame everybody today. All of them. It was a cluster **** of coincidences that got GC the win. They got lucky all day. Where the **** is our luck. When have you ever watched a free go begging for our opposition or us get a lucky bounce. We work our arses off to no reward. At some stage it’s sypposed to turn. But when. I’ve been waiting 10 years. Jones marked it. McKay marked it. And GC cheated on the last 10 seconds. It’s supppsed to be a free and 50m penalty if you infringe 666 in the final minutes.
