Not good enough.

Cripps, Walsh, Gibbons, Newnes, Cottrell and Betts killed so much momentum in absolute terms, the key differences being that at least Cripps and Walsh also got plenty of the football, and Eddie was at least shooting at goal and creating opportunity for others.

I liked mostly how we were structured, because it gave us better opportunities to be competitive, and it thankfully highlighted personnel that we need to push out of the 22 to try and improve that.

Walsh killed momentum? Maybe cause he was gassed from working twice as hard as most of his team mates.
Can't believe anyone could critique him after that game

Yup.

we are going beat a heap of teams - but not for about three weeks - maybe bombers.

Players who will / could come in at some point over the next few weeks

Parks
Tom De Koning
Zac Fisher
Jack Martin
Nic Newman
Jack Silvagni

Totally different team - I think we would have won most games this year except Tigers with these guys firing properly.

Plus some of the following

Setterfield
Obrien
Dow
Jack Carroll
Brodie Kemp
Ramsay
Honey
Philps

We also get Kemp in another month and a half, then Charlie.

We are going to lose 3 or 4 then come flying home.
Kemp and Charlie wont play this year.

the Italian restaurant I went to had the footy on so I got to see some of the 2nd half.....

After 1/4 time, the game was a pizza shit...

SPS is a bust. As soft as butter, 7 meter chip kicks and slow. The sooner we can trade that bloke the better. Premiership sides don't have easy beats like him. Imagine lining up against him, easy night at the office. Bruise free footy

Been calling it for 2 years.
Trade bait when he had some currency.

Fair point, beggars the question why did we recruit so many midfielders if we can't use all of them? Why not go for a HBF etc.

Seeing SPS in backline is painful, as is Stocker and from what I've heard on here, Kemp is going to go there too.

The extremely high price we paid for those 2, makes it sting even more.

Kennedy on his last legs imo, half-forward at best.
I’m usually a knocker, but sps wasn’t bad today.

Club has the upper hand on the Cripps deal now
Hope they actually see that
Roll the dice and if he wants to stay he can. Leave some money on the table as we will need it for others
Just let him leave with currency.
Better to bring in multiple midfielders than rely on one. Cerra and something else would be better long term value, if it could be swung.

One Lousy. *******. Quarter.

To go from switched on and smashing the contest to that utter sh*te in the very next quarter is coach killed stuff.

Players need to take accountability for this loss.
Last time we played 4 qtrs was against the Dogs last year.

4 loses, 4 games we lost the contested ball.

Teague refuses to drag the game into a contest, and still wants to play breakneck speed rather than composure when required

When it's on/works, it looks great, when we don't have it, sides score too easily. It won't change, unless Teague makes the change

Based on tonight, replace Gibbo, Newnes, Fog, Betts. Cotts is boarderline. Casboult too, but we don't have a replacement

Missing some talent, Martin, Fish, JSOS

Can't wait for TDK

Newman adds composure and some hardness

But, this needs to be driven by Teague and the tweaks needed, still

Drop Fogarty LOL...the kid has one average game & you want to chop him. I understand you post for reaction & I should just shut my mouth, but seriously.

Atm we’ve got the AA chb, AA fb, an AA midfielder in Walsh and a Coleman Medal AA ff.

....and we’ll probably end up 17th.

So, fix those 14 other positions and we might be ok.

Basically, way too much up to too few.

And a co captain racking up meaningless stats across half back and another who looks like he’s mentally and physically cooked

Actually I thought our effort was better this week, apart from the 2nd quarter. Our skills letting us down.

On a positive note SPS got better as game went on. Harry did well after a shaky start, as did Jones.

Gibbo quiet game. McG handy 2 goals went missing there a while. Interesting to see what Teague and the MC do with Betts.

We really miss Fish, JSOS and Martin on our forward line.
Agree, I think best forward six is Fish, JSOS, Martin, Harry, McGovern and Fogarty.
Would have made a difference today.

Phew got nothing to worry about then.

I just get the feeling every time I look at Cripps that he’s packed it in. And next year will be the start of a “mini” rebuild when he leaves.

We’ve got an amazing footballer and captain in Walsh. This kid is built of the right stuff. Not once have I ever looked at him and thought he wasn’t putting in everything he had.

I don’t know if sacking Teague is the right move or not, but this playing group is at rock bottom in terms of confidence, skills and football IQ.

It's also concerning that we've managed to turn Lachie Fogarty from a mature ball/man-hunting midfield/forward into a flakey flanker.

That's elite de-development.
Thats a club record in carltoning someone. Walsh miraculously is 2 and a half years in without getting ruined, enjoy it while it lasts.
