it's like the very underwhelming performances against North, WC & Richmond were a sign that once we started playing teams around us, we'd struggle. and look, it's not even a bad thing. thank god we're not fluking wins here too. then we would have reason to think we're good and be in a position to make some mistakes. at least this way no-one can seriously believe we're anything but a 9-13 team and everyone can plan accordingly. we can even drop jake kelly!

with that said, like last week, we managed to get ourselves back into the game heading into the last quarter even with our own poor goal-kicking and the other team kicking the lights out, but then we laid a gigantic egg in the fourth quarter.

That was a really tough watch. I’m pretty flat. Just not good enough. Had our chances in the third and probably showed how good we can be. Which isn’t that good this season

Could tell we were off within the first 10 minutes. Just the body language was poor and we never really had a chance.

Our forward line needs a huge overhaul and midfield is nowhere near the mark.

Forward coach D. Tapping got a bit of work to do!
Some of our senior players are so mediocre at times as well, just no sense of taking the game on.

Meh. Always sucks losing to the scum but not too unhappy with that. Thought we'd lose by a lot more tbh. We're out of legs and need the bye to reset.

Plus there's always 1993.

**** Carlton.

Kicking at goal (and in general) was really ordinary all night, just killed any momentum that we could possibly build.

Perkins, Stringer, Wright (weak as piss), Langford, Gresham, Hind all offered nothing at all. Carlton are 18 months ahead of us and have 2 elite KPF whereas I’m not sold we have 1 AFL standard KPF.

They need to keep Martin forward of centre, his disposal and defensive efforts are a liability, If we want to continue with this quarterback role then Redman is your man.

Effort and ability to make adjustments was good but poor goal kicking hurt.

Had our chances against a top 2 team and we legitimately are in every game at the moment. 2 weeks in a row let games slip but didn't expect wins so still hopeful for the 2nd half of the year.

Still need to get games into caddy, byran, roberts, saad and tsatas. Maybe hayes?

We have few blokes in pretty bad form and gaps in our list so should be able to rotate them all through at times.
