Out: Owies, LOB.
In: Kennedy, Honey.

A few avoid being dropped by the skin of their teeth based on the fact that we are experiencing some injuries. Surely Fisher is put on notice for his performances over the last few weeks, doesn't appear to offer much in the way of pressure off the ball when he doesn't have possession either.

Would think Martin coming straight back in would be a few steps in the wrong direction, surely the days of blokes who are serial under performers should be made to earn their spot in the team.

This should be another game where we should win, but these are always the danger games. Lets hope it's a better showing than this afternoon's game, because Kangaroos will pants us if we perform the way we did today.

See it landing something like this…

IN: Martin, Kennedy
OUT: Owies, Acres*

As silly as it sounds, big test this one. After two indifferent performances out of three games, this one will tell us where we stand. Expect us to win comfortably, let’s see what they deliver.

Blues by 48 points 👍🏻

Out: LOB x 2, Owies, Cowan, Fisher
In: Dow, Plowman, Kennedy?, Cincotta

Walsh maybe sub is he’s ready enough???
what happened to cowan and fish? plowman for who? strange changes

for mine: hope acres is ok. he holds his width better than anyone in our team and his run is so important. cant wait to have walsh acres and hollands all in the one team!

i think we will be much better on a decent surface

roos were missing simpkin and ldu, if theyre both back roos are a much different team, especially if we are missing both acres and walsh

still I think Logue will be suspended and mckay is still out. charlie and harry could kick 10

we are in for a fight, but I think we will win. blues by 80

Feel a bit sorry for Owies who was playing his best game for us yesterday but was subbed out with a hamstring. His defensive running and impact was missed. Concerned about Acres shoulder injury and George Hewett's hand injury - both were playing under duress. I don't like to see first year players with strapping ( Hollands) that is 3-4 potential outs - without considering a couple of players like LoB and Fisher whose 'form' is poor.

As for the game I expect another close one - lack of between the arcs kicking skill and transition running outside of contests forces a grind game.

I think jj means Plow for Cow which isn't a bad idea.
I'd like Dow in for Owies.
Don't know Cincotta's work at all but sure. (sub)
Kennedy will be ready?
Awesome!
Camon blues.
Agro's post in my top 3 for the year.
Clarko needs to lose again. And badly.

We've played some very depleted defences so far and Harry's kicked 2 goals.
I'm not sure that the 2 ruckman experiment(TDK crashing into packs) is creating enough separation for H to kick a bag, it's been good for JSOS though.
Can TDK be instructed to avoid the FWD 50 area?

one of the most pleasing aspects of our game to date is the newly developing synergy between owies durds and mots and the emergence of what looks like a genuine wing player in hollands.

They’re making watching our games more fun. Effort is right up there and they are creating havoc for the oppo.

durds is only a small guy but his got a heart of a lion. Uses his body like a ballistic missile.

then we have a skinny underage looking player in hollands. He is embarrassing some of our 5-6 year players with his efforts.

Need to see players mentally commit to taking the required care and responsibility when kicking for goal.
Be the player to put your hand up and be accountable !!
It’s all too easy to pat each other on the arse and say maybe next time mate.
The lazy, weak minded conversion lets down the hard work of players further afield and keeps the opposition in the game when we should be closing the door.
We consistently make our task harder than it should be with poor game sense and finishing.
Address these fundamentals and it’ll help reduce the constant slog that our game has become …

Oh … and btw …
Any chance of anyone at the club devising some kind of kick out strategy that doesn’t result in at best, a 50/50 result ??

Forced change is Owies for Kennedy.

Noticed that Fisher seemed to be getting a lot more of his possessions in the defensive third of the ground.

Assuming that was a situational directive from the coaches, I reckon we could probably have Owies out, move Fisher permanently forward again, and bring Kennedy in. Cerra and Hewett can then cover the spots Fisher was taking (sitting wide of the defensive 50 contests as a handball outlet/sweeper).

If Acres is out, then it's presumably LOB into the 22. Unless Walsh has a monster week on the track and the MC back him in to play an exclusively wing role in his return game. I don't think we rush Walsh in against North though. He shouldn't be "needed", and Clarko is the type who would instruct players to target Walsh's back at every opportunity.

Newman, Young, Weiters
Saad, Gov, Docherty
Acres/LOB, Kennedy, Hollands
TDK, Cripps, Hewett
Fisher, JSOS, Motlop
Durdin, McKay, Curnow
I/C: Cowan, Cerra, Pittonet, Curnow

Sub would have to be another runner I think. Cincotta maybe, Binns possibly (though I hate a sub debut) - or we throw the vest at Martin. If Acres plays, it probably stays with LOB as coverage.

Huge test to see if we're actually legit. Turn up like we did against the Giants and they'll smash us.

Another reunion with a club legend !
