Call it as I see it. I have not been off the mark in everything I have said to date, but I can see this game being a turning point.

If the players have any respect for BB then they will win it and will well. If not, then BB has some serious thinking to do about his future.
I tend to agree in general but it's more about respect for themselves I feel.

He slammed the guy's head into the ground. What do you not understand?

I doubt there is any point conversing with you but I'll try.

IF the player being tackled used their free arm to protect himself, there would be no headstrike. The player chose to hold the footy rather than protect themself.

By your logic, tackle someone around the waste, no pinning of arms. If they fall and hit their head, the tackler is suspended.

Makes absolutely zero sense.

There is onus on both the tackler AND the player with the ball to prevent injury.

Doesn't provide rebound and isn't good one on one? At least Plowman is good at one of the two. We need some rebound, so he's the one to make way. He may be performing his job to an ok level but our defence is so severely lacking a good mover. Give Stocker the chance.
Fair enough about trialling stocker if he is ready. Plowman may be slightly ahead of Newman due to larger frame/strength but he needs to improve a bit. Upside of Newman is he can score goals, has some evasive skills like sidestepping/baulking players and he may be a good reader of play.

Watching the footage, I don't think he had a chance to brace himself with his left arm. He was off balance while being tackled, had his right arm pinned, and was forcibly slung down and to the right. The action was accentuated by the fact that he was moving that direction already, was only on one foot when Setters tried to bring him to ground. Almost no time for him to think about the situation, and extremely difficult, if at all possible, to get his left arm down in any meaningful way.

Have to agree that if the situation was reversed and it was Setterfield getting tackled in the same way, I'd be expecting a week off for his opponent as a minimum. I don't think it was a malicious tackle, but it was a bit on the reckless side. 2 weeks feels like overkill, but when "impact" is a key pillar in determining the sentence there's not much you can do to argue it.

Presumably the club lawyers have assessed what points we'd need to prove to argue it down and have determined that doing so isn't feasible.

Not the thread for it but have you watched the footage instead of quoting an article Moody ...

Surely the blues are challenging the suspension, Powell had an arm free, he just didn't want to let go of the ball.

Only if he earns it. Gifting games to kids that are not ready is risky.
