Except that the shoulder injury happened after he played a NB practice match on the 28/2 rather that the first JLT against * on the same day, hence the initial comment that he had slipped down the pecking order.

Discussion at the time was that some players were playing in the VFL match rather than JLT due to the extended squads. Conditioning considerations in terms of managing minutes.

It's how I'm seeing it as well. His impact was highest in round 1 and has been declining since. Needs a deload week and then ramp it up again.

16 touches and 8 or 9 marks says otherwise.

Was spreading beautifully.

Not sure where this idea of declining performance has come from.

I'm getting a real back against the wall type vibe from this game. Maybe?
Although we played like utter shit last weekend. And the Dogs look pretty good.

I'll be there anyway.
The Suns whole style is making teams look bad. The Saints game in round one was terrible and the Bulldogs game wasn't much better.

I just hate playing the dogs, I keep having flashback to playing them out at the Western Oval and struggling to kick a goal back in 1991.

I would also say the dogs looked terrible for a lot of the game against the pies, but they simply kept the socres close enough so when they have their burst of good free flowing footy they can get in front.

To add more statistical sauce:
13 uncontested possesion
8 uncontested marks
95mins TOG

Was tracking beautifully, and has me bloody excited. I only saw him as a contested player. Quite the opposite. Heat map shows he played mainly on the wing and a little on ball. Very versatile. Will be a 25possie player next year.

Setters is probably due for a rest anyway, even if it is a "forced" one.
IMO two weeks for that is way over the top. Chook lotto as always!

At the very least, we've lost 4 games with an average losing margin of under 3 goals.

With even an average level of conversion, we'd be 2-2 going into this game like our opponents.

We also have a number of viable options in reserve if we want/need to change things up, not just a bunch of deckchairs.

Just do the basics for longer

We have the talent, we have the effort but clearly lack the composure. We looked at our best when the ball went inside 50 quickly on Sunday.

Change that message, get it in quickly and use the assets we have up forward. Slow movement completely stifles the impact Charlie, Harry and Gov have. We do that and we’ll give ourselves a chance at winning.

If Kennedy was at the front of Boltons plans he would have been playing JLT not reserves.

Setterfield despite recovering from his knee injury has leap frogged him.

Hopefully he plays this weekend, plays well and gives Crippa the help he needs.

I’m becoming a masochist and am starting to enjoy the weekly flogging. Will not know what to do if by some miracle Footscray lose to us

You need to look beyond the stats.
We don't score
Our disposal is average
We lack connection in the middle of the ground
I will take a 5 goal loss with visual proof of method and skill execution above the 2 point loss where we displayed a lack of football fundamentals

Ed has to do a lockdown job on the Bont. If we let him run around unmolested he will tear us a new one.

SOS has to come in. Levi and Lobbe have to go. It will be tough to go 0 and 5 but we are the side to do it
I’d prefer JSOS to come in and play the role similar to what settetfield did to Rockliff in the second half. I think Curnow forward is starting to work.

Agree on all points, believe it or not .... but....scoring is hardly even part of footy anymore so its not that we are so far away in that with regard to the average. It's a thing we need to change though and the sooner the better.

One thing that is apparent is Mits McGov is a very very smart forward.
