it’s become a reverse dick measuring contest the whole, “they are favourites” thing the coaches do.
Want Dimma to come out and say, “we’ve beaten them the last few times in big games, we think we are better than them and we want to prove it again “

Nothing wrong with that is it? It’s like the coaches are petrified the players might actually not try if they believe they’re the better side Lol

Dimma will do Dimma, “They’re a great side a side we have really looked up to then with their consistency and performance over the last decade, but as a group we know if we play our best footy we will give ourselves every chance to win”

And don't think that won't be lost on Fagan! He will be livid at the performace. I really feel sorry for Kaiden Coleman who was dropped for that spud Ellis-Yoemen. Kaiden was in pretty good form for a kid and they could have used a guy at times that can twist out of tackles, with massive speed. Even the potential Brownlow Medalist had a costly start to the game I think. They had quite a few good players off their best form. Our Noosa boy Jack Payne tried his hardest - his best is still ahead of him though.
That Payne kid is going to be a bloody good player.

A lot of this will come down to the relative freshness of both clubs - we have had a galvanising win in extremely hostile conditions against a club that kept throwing it at us all night. Port would have beaten many, many teams Friday night.

Geelong have had two big wins over a tapped out Collingwood and a Brisbane which seemed to let the moment completely get the better of them.

I see it panning out one of two ways; we are cooked, or we are steeled.

If we have the body, I think we have the plan to win this game. I would be putting Harry Taylor and Lachie Henderson firmly in the crosshairs. Taylor doesn’t have the speed or agility when the ball hits the deck, and Henderson doesn’t have the power to match Lynch, Nor the athleticism to go with Jack. We must make it our no.1 priority to put these two under the ball at all times. We need to win enough ball to do so. Both Taylor and Henderson have looked calm, assured in the last fortnight. Their opposition let them look this way. But the weaknesses of these two players are ripe for exploitation if we can win the ball around the scrimmages.

Those long term injuries and out of hub decisions by Houli and Edwards may turn out to be to our advantage in the end. We get those players back in time to put match experience under their belts. The loss to Brisbane also gives us an extra game to do so. They come in fresh and match tuned. Can't wait for Saturday night.

And while I'm at it, I noticed the free kick count at half time was 10 to 2 in favour of Brisbane. Another reason why I'd prefer us to play Geelong on Saturday.
We haven’t even conceded less than 4 50-metre penalties against Brisbane this year and we played them twice 😂

Wouldn't be worried about freshness etc, yes we had a tuff game, but over week of recovery and 1 day on opposition to boys will be primed.

We played only 3 games at the gabba Syd,Sun's end lions correct ?. Is that ground smaller or bigger then Metricon.

Gabba is 2 metres shorter, 4 metres wider than Metricon

It's much of a muchness, won't affect the game

Round 17 we didn't have Prestia, Edwards, Broad, Astbury and also had Lynch and Soldo go down with injuries early on.

Quietly confident.

Also only had two centre clearances for the game and lost the overall clearances by 16. If past history repeats than our midfield is a different animal at the business end of the year.

Ablett and danger probably play forward a lot.

Back our lads in to beat Guthrie. Duncan. Etc. In the guts.

A big test yet again. Prestia. Edwards. Cotchin. Usually rise to the challenge

Even after this prelim I still love you campaigners. **** you for winning, but after the shit Richmond copped for years I want a Tigers dynasty.

PS: This isn't to rack up likes I want you ****s to be abusive towards me and everyone else. It is hilarious how up in arms everyone gets about it and I heartily encourage it.

The problem is that if Richmond wins the club won't have beaten anyone any good:

2017 finals wins against Geelong, GWS & Adelaide (the other top-four sides),
2019 finals wins against Geelong and GWS again, plus Brisbane before that,
2020 finals wins against St Kilda, Port (the 5th seed of '17) & (hopefully) Geelong again,
as well as Hawthorn in '18 (the most successful club immediately prior to Richmond's run).

It would constitute ten finals wins out of twelve, yet be the softest run ever...

Apparently.
