this game made me madder than all 3 of our elim final losses. we played like shit and the umps ripped our holes apart until we couldn't take any more and bled out. i don't understand how they just chipped the ball around in their backline then scored easy goals down the middle. we had no gameplan tonight

The St Kilda drubbing and Pies loss last year were completely different, we lost both in the 1st qrt. We were in with a chance until they kicked past 22 points in the last quarter this game.

For the record i thought we were going to lose before the game anyway, i didn't think we were going to adjust without Rance 2nd game in without him. Like Edwards said in the hakftime talk, the keeping off football wasn't hurting us it was when they went down the corridor with speed. Most of which resulted by turnover because we lacked a second option (reiwoldt/balta) to kick to a contest.

When we were going well we would get it to a contest in the forward line and hold it there or get it out of bounds and set up.
Tonight we bombed it in, the cut it of and either rebounded or chipped around to keep it off us.

george was the least shit in his position out of anyone tonight, if you want him dropped off that you're nuts. 4-5 players that play a similar role tonight were garbage compared to george

mate we were stuffed way before that. the coaches stuborness and lack of willingness to change the defensive structures stuffed us from the start big time..

Yep, should have played man on man to bring it negate their possession game, but we didn't have the height around the ground and Reiwodlt wouldn't have been able to compete in contests. It's a testament to Jack that he stayed on to play a rucking role.

A fit Jack, and Balta would have at least allowed that to be an option in the 2nd half after Edwards kicked that goal to put us only 5 points behind

I think it's fair to put a line through us for this year if the Riewoldt news is true. Even disregarding the Rance and Riewoldt injuries the same pressure and desire from 2017 just isn't there. Our average midfield is going to continue being exposed as well.

We need someone in defence who is calm and can negotiate traffic. I don't know if Baker has played back but he looks very assured when the ball is around him. And certainly won't take three grabs to pick up a groundball; won't hack kick it and won't handball it a metre to someone standing stiil next to him.

Grundy killed us in the Prelim so what do you do? Think Nankervis can do it all by himself again. Terrible decision.

Collingwood came with a plan and controlled the game from the first quarter to the final siren yet you let it happen the whole time.

You took away any option to help out our backline, Grimes cant do it all himself and you only had to look at how stuffed he was in the last quarter.

MacIntosh held his own tonight. All the others I agree with, would like to wrong about Graham though. Would like to see him in the guts getting the ball out more, but not sure if he is up to it.
