One time when I was younger I was depressed for a while so just stayed in my flat and drank goon and got on the bongs and nangs for months. Eventually, a friend convinced me to come out and when I first got to Bimbo’s I was actually pretty excited just to be out of the house and amongst some life again.
A girl came up to me, which isn’t common, and I tried to have a flirt but I was truly out of practice socialising so I just made a tit of myself. She shuffled off and went to dance while I went and played pool. I won a few games in a row and had the table and was feeling better about myself. That same girl from earlier came back up and with a few pints under my belt I had loosened up and actually had a decent conversation. Just as I was thinking about going home with her she left while I was taking a shot. Just gone, no goodbye of anything. No resolution.
I kept playing pool, got really pissed and stumbled home.
That night was basically this game. Excited to be there, ****ed it up but no harm done.
Next day I woke up happy enough, not because I did or didn’t pick up but because I’d left the house. On that night, my eyes were on one prize but really I had already achieved something by getting amongst it.

I cant believe how negative some of you campaigners are being! Footy is back amongst a pandemic! I’m rapt. Shame we didn’t win, but footy is back and we got some points and looked okay in patches. We’ll be thereabouts at year’s end.
It would have been nicer if we won today or if I’d got a gobby back then but when life is as grim as is has been lately, or was for me then, I think you need to appreciate the good.

Even a clunky AFL game is a welcome relief from that rugby league rubbish we've had to endure.

An appropriate result and a bloody tough contest. The skills were a little rusty (what the hell do you expect?) but to whinge about low scoring is to downplay the excellent work of both defences.

Astbury, Broad, Grimes, outstanding ... and much as I dislike collingwood, the pies defence was pretty good too.

Astbury was dark on himself after being outmarked by M'check, got angry and started to get involved. Broad was good earlier too.

I think I’d rather lose by 50 points. I feel kind of hollow. I really hate draws and I really hope the difference between top 4 and top 8 this year isn’t 2 points.

Was our worst player in the first half, then the system kicked in and he become solid again.

not giving him any credit there. won heaps of one on ones late and took some really good contested marks where we would have been opened up if he didnt.
