The only disappointing thing about today was the lack of opportunity given in the centre bounces. Taranto, Prestia and Hopper were in there all day. Yes we beat them in there but why not try and find out about a few others? Maurice turned the game as a mid last week in the VFL but doesn't get one centre bounce today. Ross has shown plenty of promise when being played on the ball but Yze had him freezing his ass off on the wing for some reason.

The other thing is while we won the clearances, we offer zero defensive pressure when we lose them. Those 3 in there at once is so slow. At least you know Maurice would bust his ass chasing someone.

I haven’t changed my opinion. I don’t want us to trade Daniel Rioli. He is too important to us. I could live with losing Bolton/Baker/Graham but not Rioli. Especially to those jerks we played today.

If there’s such a thing as the ‘footy Gods’ can we please have a better season next year?

Was at the social club after the game, Bauer and Koschitzke both spoke. Bauer, a very reserved guy but theres something about this kid, he has genuine talent and he mentioned that he's going away for a few weeks but will be back training and working hard to get us back off the ladder, believes in the club and the youth.

Take outs from today:

- Anyone we draft in the top 30 has to be one touch, good decision maker and elite skills- we have too many players below average skills who constantly fumble and kill momentum.

- Bauer is showing something. Might make it might not but he has a spark and looks like he could have a really high ceiling if he gets a good run at it and a few full preseasons.

- Absolutely zero forward structure. Too many times we are breaking the lines in the middle and all our forwards are up at the 50m mark and stationary. We then have to go sideways or kick to the contests. Not one time can I remember us having someone lead up from the goal square to the mids running towards the F50.

- Maybe this last one is due to it being R24 but lots of work to do in the offseason with our defensive structures. Absolute lack of effort from our mids to go with the oppo mids and even Gold Coast cut us open far too often to end up with easy free targets in their F50. We let teams get easy uncontested marks all the way to the wings and beyond far too often.

Feel like a chapter of my life has ended today.

What a send off. Couldn’t give two hoots about the result, just to be there was special enough.

Must’ve been some pollen in the air because jeez there was some tears shed. What a player we were lucky enough to of witnessed. To send off a warrior like Grimes, and the story of Pickett, well that was special too.

Game wise, jeez our kicking skills are appalling. An absolute disgrace. Anyone we draft or trade in MUST be able to kick.

Again, didn’t pay too much attention to the game, was more about what happened afterwards that made the day.

Great game by Prestia, HRS, Rioli, Short and Vlastuin.
