I think he needs to go to the vfl for a while to find his feet or someone needs to put in some 1 on 1 coaching with him

He's just suffering from the second year blues atm. He'll be fine long-term.

One thing that I absolutely love about Taranto is that he absolutely gives a ****
We have seen high profile trade targets come to new clubs and not quite buy in and just Coast along getting the pay check
But with Taranto when it’s tough going you can see him still grinding away and when it gos our way you can see him get around the boys and egg them on
When he kicked that first goal you could tell he was on a mission

Solid enough win, but lets not let the final margin remove the fact that we struggled to shake the Eagles until well into the 3rd quarter and it was only when we had the burst where Prestia kicked 3 in succession that we actually broke their resistance.
The midfield worked much better with the right mix starting in the middle with Hopper Taranto & Bolton combining for 93 disposals 56 contested possessions 27 clearances 16 tackles & 6.4. There is still a place for the likes of Prestia Cotchin & Martin to play cameos to mix things up, but I'd love to see us continue with those 3 as our starting midfield. Also helped that they were given silver platter service from Samson Ryan who stamped himself on the game going up against an undersized ruck but that is what you love to see from young kid trying to establish himself as a young ruckman.
Was also pleasing to see Ross perform well enough that he should hold his spot next week. He's not one who stands out but he just goes about his business with a minimum of fuss and often times will be clean with the footy even in traffic, Ralphsmith is another youngster who I was happy to see play a solid enough game rotating between wing & HB. Would like to see him playing more off the wing than HB moving forward as his run and carry can really open up opposition defences along with the likes of Rioli Baker & Short also linking up through the middle.
Now we front up against Geelong who have steadied themselves after being 0-3 to start the season to now sit well inside the 8, while we're entrenched in the bottom 6. You'd expect Cotchin to return and possibly Soldo depending on if the foot was re-injured or just pulled up sore from playing on the hard ground at Marvel last week. With no VFL game it's hard for anyone else to stake a claim. Out of the side will go Cumberland as he was fortunate to get back in because of Soldo going out.
Hopefully the boys can lift for a game against our old foe as it's pretty much a free swing as I'm not sure anyone but the mist die hard Tigers fan would give us a chance anyway.
