When did Tiges become on the best offensive teams in the comp?
Somewhere between the North Melbourne loss and about half way through the Brisbane game…Guess we can thank Brisbane for playing us into form? :D

Missed the game, had to watch the replay. Fk me that 3rd quarter was truly beautiful.

Carltank lose in heartbreaking fashion, Pies streak ended and Bummers belted. What a beautiful weekend!

We've been good all year, but since half time against the Lions its gone to another level. Now sitting 2nd in overall points scored in the comp with 64 points less than the Lions on top. And thats with missing Dusty for most the season.

Lynch, Reiwoldt, Cumberland, Rioli Jr with Bolton/Dusty taking turns rotating through looks frightening. This is the best goals per game spread we've ever had with this team.

2022: Lynch (3.2), Cumberland (2.1), Bolton (1.9), Rewioldt (1.8) and Martin (1.3)
2021: Rewioldt (2.3), Lynch (1.9), CCJ (1.3), Martin (1.1) and Bolton (1.1)
2019: Lynch (2.5), Rewioldt (1.8), Martin (1.3), Castagna (1.1), Chol (1.0)
2018: Rewioldt (2.9), Caddy (2.0), Martin (1.3), Townsend (1.2), Castagna (1.1)
2017: Townsend (3.2), Rewioldt (2.3), Martin (1.4), Butler (1.3), Castagna (1.1)

And how bout our premiership quarters since then.

v Lions: 6.4 to 2.3
v Port: 7.4 to 3.2
v Hawks: 9.2 v 1.5

On absolute fire coming out of half time.

Gutsy effort for Vlas to get up and play today after being crunched last week. And he played really well.
kudos too bruest i think who could've thumped into Vlas but instead pulled up at the last second when he had every right for Vlas to earn it.

60k today with very little hawks supporters at the G

the tiger army is back !

still reckon plenty are staying away due to shockings rule changes
more like the fact we finally had a game at a family friendly time. this is not the thread for a rant on fixtures - but honestly they killing the future of mass-support by the way they treat supporters as a commodity and backdrop to broadcast.

God damn lynch just ruined that young defenders career.

D head was trying to rough him up all 3rd quarter, then lynch pulled his pants down, set them alight and pissed on the smouldering ashes.

The riolis are dominanting, fmd Maurice hunts blokes for sport, Dan just flawless atm.

Neon dion continues his mint form and Cotchin playing like he’s 5 years younger.

Great win

Robbo agrees 5. Where is DGB’s footy?

Denver Grainger-Barras is recognised as an intercept player, but he’s not that. He’s not anything at the moment. In his third season and, bearing in mind he is a top-10 draft pick for the Hawks, there is a growing impatience about him. He’s played 15 games this season, all in defence, and there’s nothing noteworthy to report. He doesn’t intercept, he doesn’t win a lot of the ball and he’s rated average for one-on-one defender. On Sunday, he had six goals kicked on him, four by the rampaging Tom Lynch and one each by Noah Cumberland and Ben Miller. He collected nine possessions himself. He’s only 20 and he will improve but, to be fair, there’s work to be done.

We also concede a lot. Worst of the teams in the top 8
This is true, but I think it shows the change of our gameplan. With the rule changes making it harder to stop teams defensively we have pushed further into a more attacking gameplan.

Our points scored v points scored against rankings

2017: 8th and 3rd
2018: 2nd and 2nd
2019: 6th and 4th
2020: 5th and 2nd
2021: 11th and 8th
2022: 2nd and 10th

We've always had better defense than offense, but this year theres been a change. Theres been some growing pains but overall I think its working as its the way the game is being played now. Now having a whole season played out, this looks international. This isn't our defense has just been shit, this is we are prioritizing offense over defense.
Looking at some of the scorelines this year is wild. In the past if we score 80 points, we've almost almost won. We would rarely let teams score over 80.

This year we've had 10 games were both teams scored over 80. 4-6 in these games. 4-6 isn't great, but if you look at the 6 losses the 2 biggest were rounds 3 and 5. Since then its been 4 by under a goal which we should've won all 4 of. Just a little change and that turns to 8-2.

84-117
82-101
113-86
117-94
100-106
86-89
128-93
92-94
88-92
104-97

2019 we had 3 games like this total and went 3-0.
2018: 6 and went 4-2.
2017: 4 and went 4-0.

13 total games and went 11-2 with both teams scoring 80+ over 3 years. To 10 games and 4-6 over not even a full season complete.

This kinda has a 2017 feeling to it. Its a new way to play for us and we're still learning it but as the season goes on we're getting better and better at it. If we choked just a little less we could be top 4 and storming into finals absolutely peaking. So I think this gameplan change is working

The great thing about this Finals series is we're now the underdogs and the media know it. All the exceptions are on our opponents, If we happen to get knocked out from here on out, our year will still be considered a success, with nothing to lose and a very real opportunity to win the Premiership.
