We had a good mids coach but Dimma had other ideas

Grimes fell off the cliff halfway during the year, but very very sad to see in his last game of the season and probably his career the umpires sinking the boots in when Grimes is trying to have his last gasp of oxygen. didn't do himself any favours by fumbling, stumbling and scragging but most of those 4 kicks against we're just blatant cheating and umpire grandstanding.

Was literally the last move mad before Dimma pissed off - They literally re-signed him 5 days before he quit. Felt a lot like him sorting out a mate before he left.

Should never have been re-signed, was so dumb, even in real-time before Dimma left. He needs to retire & that was fairly obvious even before we re-signed him. Dimma really gave zero ****s to richmond when he left - he traded away our future for his own chance at success & then re-signed his ol mates before he left.

The little things that cost you

-Tarrant on a 2 year deal instead of 1

-Overpaying for Hopper even after Taranto was landed

- Signing Grimes for 1 too many years

-Re-signing Cotchin & (possibly) Jack


All moves made in Dimma's desperation to squeeze one more from a group and a club that was clearly emotionally spent and needed to recharge and rebuild. He was completely tone deaf the last 2 years and coached for his own legacy & not for the clubs best interest.


Its these lil losses that build up to a tidal wave of pain eventually.

Until then, it’s all up in the air. Kids were fine but have a lot to work on. Once Dusty goes we are in a bother regardless.

Let’s see who the club choose to take us into a new era. That’s a massive decision.

Now that we have come down somewhat from those lofty heights it would be nice to occasionally get umpired like the other 17 sides and occasionally get the frees that are gifted to pies blues and dogs
Thought young brown looked really comfortable at the level and treatise is a plug and play hbf

Taranto 19 touches predominantly in the forward line gets some leeway. Hopper 16 touches in the guts for most the game is simply unacceptable. Dow keeps his spot before Hopper.

The 1080 has a high degree of difficulty. Gold medal stuff.

Mate I've given up trying to fathom umpiring. Just take it as a given we're on the wrong end of it.

Good signs from the kids today. The 31-point margin doesn’t really reflect how close we were to them. This is what our coaches failed to understand - I’d rather see our kids play and lose by a bit more than normal than watch out of form players running around and still take us out of finals contention.

Season overall was a strange one. Im happy we finally did better in contests, but I’m fairly disappointed that the Taranto/Hopper coup in the off-season ended up in a bottom-6 finish. I really thought we’d be challenging for the top 4 this year.

Priority for us in the off-season is KPFs and speedy mids. More small forwards wouldn’t hurt either.
