We won off of a 4 day break

We won ugly and were clearly affected by the reduced break and the coach said as much during the post match. Started very sluggish, and the 4th quarter we lost key stats except the dogs couldn’t kick straight so it masked it a bit. You don’t think we smash the bulldogs by much more with a few days more rest?

Loco.

Don't no ese

Tonight... don't sack Hinkley. He's still got a lot to do to earn his credits back, but if you'd told me that we'd put in a performance like that against an in form reigning premier, who a round earlier had smashed the 2nd place side off the park like that I wouldn't have believed you for a second. The strategy is right. The selections are right. The players stand up and win games when the going gets tough. They believe. This year is, right now, different.
Sack him anyway. He isn't expecting it right now, and it'll keep everyone at the club on their toes.

its the first time they actually socially distanced the crowd properly at adelaide oval as well...

The 2nd time. The Showdown was pretty socially distanced. I agree totally that it felt a bit uneasy at the games with 15,000 and only every 2nd seat free.

They only had 10,000 plus corporates for the bulldogs game as well and there was bugger all difference today to that game.

Wow.

Just finished watching it. Goosebumps with the Power chant just at the beginning of the last quarter, the crowd again played a massive part, like I've never seen any other AFL crowd do at full capacity, let alone with 10k.

What a cracking game. Feared we could be left lamenting some missed opportunities and a few terrible umpiring decisions, but the boys just kept going, showing great mental resilience to go along with their ability. Ultimately they were superior to the reigning champs on every department.

Ladhams is a lot of fun to watch, I'm not used to seeing a ruckman who can kick the ball properly (see Lycett's attempt at goal) and Butters has that x-factor I used to think Wingard provided. He can change direction of a play with a quick handball or a clever kick.

Tells you how much I followed the league as a whole in the last couple years that I didn't know Lynch was playing for Richmond, I used to think he was brilliant for Gold Coast.

Just had a look at the ladder and both ends are looking beautiful right now. Mind the gap indeed.

Rozee is (old good) Wingard, Butters is Gray (but hitting heights earlier)

Have been to last 3 games at AO. Last week v W.Bulldogs 14,159 sounded like twice that number. Yesterdays game v Richmond (approx.)10000 sounded like five times that number. Headache from yelling. Wasn't me yelling either.

Blokes near me shit themselves so many times, literally. Had a quick check after the game and seems they had dropped a bag of fruchocs.

For me, it was the passion of the supporters at the game. Don't think I've been to a game where so many got up out of their seats so many times during the game. All four quarters. Embarrassed when I looked around to still be sitting for the double 50m penalty...lesson learned.

Supporters get up out of their seats when the need is there. This game brought that need. Been a long time since we've seen a game like this.

Can only assume anyone watching the game live but not at AO was doing the same?

I was at the game with El Zorro and a couple of others and we were in the last row of seats in Aisle 215 on western side. The aisle finished at row Q. About 10 minutes in we both jumped out of our seats and abused the umpire and one of us said I'm gonna stay staying and we did. The other 2 joined in and we all stood up for the rest of the game. It wasn't a game to stay seated. We want the same seats for the Hawks game.

Pleased to see a lot of SPP recognition. His manic attack on ball and player with ball is outstanding.

Our recruiting and trading needs to be given kudos. I’ve been a big critic but it’s starting to look like the club really has done the right thing at the draft and trade table in recent seasons.

SPP was for me, BOG and that is with no disrespect to Gray, Boak, Wines and then Butters, Ladhams, Amon; indeed, every player played well because you don't win games like that with any passengers.

Winning is habitual and whether you win ugly or with a "leg in the air", all you have to do is win. I enjoyed last game as much as this one because I saw a proper Port Adelaide performance both times. We need to find a way to win next game to make yesterday's win really count.

Crows fans reduced to supporting Richmond... after their club’s 2017 GF debacle and subsequent toxic response.

Says it all really.

This is so Porto Alegre. It’s in English and footy and at the opposite side of the globe, but it’s amazing how similar the rivalry, the comments, and the banters are...

Watching the game on TV.

We have the most passionate and cutthroat supporters in this sport. I bloody love it.

“Have a listen to this crowd, they are going berserk over there, it’s madness. They’ll tear the place down!” - Eddie McGuire

“I’ve never heard this much noise from a crowd of 10,000. This is exceptional.” - Jason Dunstall

“10k? sounds like 100k! They love their footy the Port Adelaide fanbase, they are a bit like Turkish Delight, You either love em or you don’t really like em at all.” - Dwayne Russell

“I don’t really like them....,Turkish Delight that is.” - Mark Ricciuto

“That’s the problem with Port Adelaide fans in their great beauty, football is way too important.” - Dwayne Russell

Definitely. Just pointing out that four day breaks are tough, we would have beaten dogs by more if off a longer a break, and if we didn’t put Richmond away in the 4th quarter with them on a 4 day break, it would have been disappointing.
