I’m not surprised that Bailey is being preferred over Jack, but I’m still a little disappointed. Bailey is the senior player, has really performed over the past two years and now has an opportunity to play the position the club actually wants him to play. That said, Jack’s improvement this year has been great and I’ve been enjoying his development. Possible 10-year full forward here.

We’ve been due a “down” home game, I’ve leant towards the Saints winning and have tipped them as such (before these selections).
The Norf game is a non negotiable win.
Concerning selections to say the least. Ok with Gaff coming in on the back of solid enough performances, but would have hoped Dom could have done with a freshen up with Culley and Trew replacing.
Hope for a late change or two…
But a Que sera sera view tbh. It’s Simmo’s job on the line, if he wants to back in his guys, then he’ll have to face what happens thereafter

I’m going to focus on the one positive to come out of selection which is Matt Flynn. He’s done very well to rehab and play at this stage of the season from a very significant injury. Despite playing only one WAFL game for the year, I’m backing him in to give Rowan Marshall a bath for three quarters until he is subbed out.
I'll withhold my disbelief at Gaff+Sheed in together until the last minute, in case there is a late change.
If we win, not so bad, but Gaff +Sheed don't get any faster?

The fully paid up Eagles members of this board, of which I am not, should be outraged at selection this week.
Boohemian is spot on. Fringe players rotting in the 2s after showing form as required at the expense of underperforming experienced veterans is complete shittery.

If you're trying to rationalize the team selection on the basis of a slightly improved weather forecast for Saturday bear this in mind;
The ground was slippery before it rained. We've gone through a record 8 month dry spell and there's still been plenty of blokes going arse over tit. We've had about 60mm of rain this week with more to come.
There's a soccer match being played at the venue tomorrow night.
Combine those factors and you could be looking at a cabbage patch by Sat arvo.
So we've done the sensible thing at the selection table and picked;
4 tall forwards
3 tall defenders
A ruckman one week back from a 3 month injury
Dropped 2 kids, brought back Gaff and retained Sheed.
Saints by 20.

Concerned about Gaff being in. Happy to see Flynn back. Petch helps with the speed issue bringing Gaff back. Looking forward to seeing HEdwards as he has been going well in the Beagles. Nervous given our last performance and with BWilliams going forward and Flynn in the ruck but it will be good to see how it goes. Reckon it will be close win hopefully for the Eagles.
