P.S I don't like Keeffe but he isn't a forward and never will be. Play him back and leave him there or delist simple.

It frustrates me seeing that scoreline and knowing we're playing a guy in Keeffe who is demonstrated AFL quality at key back playing forward.

To be honest Quicky our defence wasn't the issue.

We got destroyed in the middle and on the spread.

But if our coaching group hasn't realised Keeffe isn't a forward by now they never will.

The kick-handball ratio among our biggest ball winners tells a lot of the frustrating story. No opposition defence is going to feel any serious pressure against a team which refuses to use the ball by foot.

Callum Brown with 28 possesions, but someone has to tell him to kick the ball more often.

He has no problem getting the ball be it in a contested situation or out in the open but his first option is always to handball it.

He's not a bad kick either, not great in length but it's not like he can't hit put it to the right spot as he did a few times yesterday when he actually chose to kick.

He will develop into a senior level player, I have no doubt about that, the fact he can find the ball is the first part, but his evasive skills are first class also.

He just needs to kick the bloody thing more, it seems familar saying that about a Collingwood player under this coaching regime.:cool:

Be interesting to see stats on handball length at different clubs.
Say:
A - 3 metres or less;
B - 3 to 5 metres; or
C - 5 metres plus.
Have a feeling we rarely do the latter - routinely committing many to the contest, or not often spreading much from contests for one reason or another (lacking confidence in teammates skills, maybe?).
