Just read pretty much the entire thread after getting back from the game. Not sure how it's turned into a petty Essendon v North slanging match though?
Very enjoyable game and great to see our frenetic tackling return, after having a few weeks off. It was that that was instrumental in our dominant wins over Carlton (when they were 2nd on the ladder) and Sydney and it makes a huge difference to our performances. When we go about it like that we're damn hard to beat, especially since we're scoring so much more this year (apparently we've only scored less than 100 points in one game).
Haven't seen much of Essendon this year and got to say on tonight's performance I certainly wasn't impressed. They started well and had many running forward, ahead of the ball, early in the first and looked like they might run us off our feet, but that didn't last and after that they didn't really put up all that much of a fight.
I guess Hurley being injured and Crameri missing took away a lot of their firepower, as they really didn't have much tonight that made me worried about them, or thinking that they were a team that the really top teams would be all that worried about this season. They'll need to really really lift if they're to win more than one or two of their next 4 or 5.
