Hough has been pretty good but witherden has been better.
???????

One is a newbie still learning the craft and building his body, but has been very reliable. Has a high ceiling.

The other, even if at the top of his game, will not be in our team if we are to be a finals team. Out of contract so delist to provide a possie for someone who may play in a finals team.

JWill invisible in the WAFL, albeit in a side that had zero connection with the forwards. I get the thinking but think we’re generally just stuck where we are at the ruck/backup ruck spot.

In: Reid, Kelly
Out: Hutch, Rotham (pushing Duggan back to defence).

One of Williams or Flynn has to go, Flynn probably deserves an extra couple of weeks, he just he reminds me of a poor man Sean Darcy so slow.

Who does Bailey Williams remind you of? A poor man’s c grade amateur player from north beach?

nah BW and Flynn combo will continue for now I reckon
Yeah difficult one for BW. Didn’t think I’d say it but JD currently seems to be providing more than him and with Oscar and JW it’s hard to see how (or where) he fits in. Especially with some/all of Maric, JWill, Archer, Hutch and even Culley.

But is he trade bait if he plays in the WAFL? So I guess play him for the rest of the season and see what happens.

However, it’s nice to have selection issues again. 😊

In all seriousness the changes this week were a step in the right direction, the MC showed a lot more originality playing Ryan through the middle with Petch also making appearances

It would be a disappointing step backwards to see Sheed come straight back in and see us revert back to the set up we had against Norf

Yeah Hough will obviously be better. Accounting for age Hough is extremely good. That’s not really the point tho right.

You are going to be disappointed if you think witherden is getting delisted this year.

Nah doubt it. Hawks are playing great, exciting footy.

We'll probably get thrashed I reckon.

Hopefully some green shoots

I reckon we can do it cuzz

if we kick straight and with Harley and Kelly back....thats arguably our best team on the park this year and with Oscar back

Yes the hawks have been good of late but they are still out of the eight

I can see us winning

His Wafl form should be irrelevant imo, he played 10 plus games in the firsts and kicked goals every game and proved himself over and over again. Was pushed out a week after kicking 3 for a guy who's so far shown very little. A bad game for an amateurs side should have no bearing.

I don’t disagree (even though that all sounds a bit…dare I say credits-y), but given we already look way too tall I don’t see a JWill for Bailey swap adding some hidden dimension we’ve been waiting on all this time.

Love Jack Williams and, while we’re dogshit, let’s just pump games into him. I’m all in on that. Just think the Allen/Waterman/Darling/Williams (either) quartet is way too tall and would rather be subtracting than adding.

Darling the obvious extra one to go. Now that Allen’s back I think it opens the door to him having a few weeks off, but I think people seriously underrate the work he’s put in this season and how his efforts help keep Waterman clean.

Agree, we can't be bringing him back in to this team. Darling needs to go but he's one of Simmos favourite players and an absolute lock to get to 300 by round 23. He's played senior footy with a broken leg and a broken arm before and it would take more than both of those to keep him out of the side this close to a milestone.

The problem we've got is that none of Allen/Waterman/Darling/Maric can (or in the case of Allen, should) pinch hit in the ruck around the ground for say 25% of the game.
I think we're just going to play Bailey Williams/Flynn for the rest of the year but I'd much rather Baileys time went to Jack Williams.

Reid in, Duggan back to halfback, Jones to sub, Hutchinson back to WAFL.

No other changes. I’m assuming Kelly won’t get up. Make Sheed come back through the WAFL.
Do we take comfort in Simmo pregame saying “we’ve got Kelly and Harley coming back next week”?

Hardly the slip of the tongue revealing Kelly’s actually clinically deceased, or am I reading too much into it?

He repeated it post game and the injury report had him back this week. Sounds pretty much like Harley and Tim Kelly are back in.
