Can we hope for something like this with Schofield this week?

Out: Darling, witherden, Jones, McGovern (injured) rotham, cripps

In, hedwards, Trew, J Williams, burgiel, hall, Maric.

Or will we see the same this week?
The cut might not be that deep, but i think that is a bonus of Simmo not coaching this week. I doubt Simmo would have dropped players like Darling for his last game coaching, so now West Coast can drop a bunch pf players and really see where some of the younger guys are at.

I reckon we'd go with four changes: Gov out injured and Darling, Jones and Witho or Rotham dropped.

As elite as Darling was, he simply doesn't have the same explosiveness and craft he once did. Has been a massive contributor for our club and a key element in our continuous success, but if we keep these players beyond there peak instead of trading them, we must have an expiry date when performance becomes a liability

What an absolutely intruiging team selection this week.

MC - NO CHANGES

100% and by saying we don’t think he’s good enough to be part of the team anymore, doesn’t mean we are dancing on his grave. No one has actually died, he just needs to be dropped, nothing dramatic just man up and do it!

Surely Darling goes out this week now, maybe Rotham too & Jermaine Jones.

Is it weird that i think this is one of the weeks where Darling DOESN'T deserve to go out?

Ironic so many people are calling for him to get the chop this week when he's played much much worse throughout the year at stages and there was minimal outcry. I mean, i'd be pleasantly surprised if he got dropped, it's just weird there's more noise about it now. I actually thought his ruck chop out work wasn't too bad.

He had 11D, 6 marks 3 score involvements and a goal.

The week before he had 6 touches, 0 marks and no goal....

Round 9 he had 7 touches, 0 marks and no goal...

He's gone goalless in 5 of 16 games this year, what makes round 17 worse than any of these games? Looking at his stats, if you replace the name Darling with Bailey Williams, and Flynn was still playing, you'd take those numbers from a backup FWD/ruck.

Absolutely nailed it Keys. Gives the opportunity to kids, right balance of smalls and talls and acknowledges WAFL form.

Agree with this.
Barring gov and hutchison, this removes the list cloggers and darling and replaces them with players we need to find out if they can play AFL.

Im not really sold on brockman right now.

I think you've answered your own question - people have been saying Darling should've been out for weeks with not only the numbers you've put up but also coz we've been far too tall for the past few rounds too. An 11 touch single goal game shouldn't keep his spot by any means.

This. I would also chuck Witho out, Ginbey back and get both Hall and Culley in.

I'm not fussed who gets named really.

The interest is in the performance.

You'll be able to tell early if we're flat or up for a fight.

Hope all the guys can break some kind of PB (Chess 20+ lol) *will prob get dropped now

Yes I'm the same in effort out anyone that doesn't provide effort going forward

Might be disrespectful this week, but I really want to ask J Schofield if he has some new ideas that didn't fit with Simpson, and if he is keen to try new things and make some tweaks to the game plan.

I wouldn't be surprised if he said no, that stability & getting the players through this difficult time is the focus.

But he needs energy & new ideas if he's to have a chance of being the next coach.

Didn't think much of his recent interview with W Schofield, but perhaps he was just being cagey.
