This could get Indian batting deck scary score, except we will be on the receiving end. Couldn’t kick 60 points against a rookie undermanned Freo team, we could be talking all out for under 40.

Like another poster said I cannot see a win unless it is an ugly, close in ,tight slugfest.
Any of this attractive getting it to the outside runners BS and our lack of skills will see GWS do this in a canter

statistically speaking, we will be fine against GWS and bulldogs but get smashed by the crows.
since the last showdown, we have dominated inside 50's except for every third week, where we get smashed in field position for some reason.
lucky we won against Melbourne or we'd all be sitting here talking about how we can't win a few in a row.

This is going to be a major test.

Would've been nice to play this mob earlier in the season sans Kelly, Greene, etc.

We do have them sans Cameron, Patton, Scully... swings and roundabouts. Have to admit Greene is always the player I fear the most, though.

There is no logical reason to think we can win this. We've been average for 3 weeks in a row now and they've been on fire. The game against Freo was about as poor as we've played since the Primus days. Add on top of that our 3 most important players are all going to be on the sidelines (Ryder, Jonas, Gray). The shit sandwich we were served on Sunday after being teased into thinking this side might actually be okay and that "just doing enough" was all part of the master plan has flattened a fair few of us here. We all know our run home from here is tough and that Fremantle game will come back to bite.

I'll actually be on a flight whilst the game is on, I literally can't remember the last time i haven't had access to Port scores live, even trial games. It has worried me a bit, because i need to know what is going on, the unknown is going to be a struggle. But could be a good thing, as all i'm expecting is as soon as we can turn the phones back on out of flight mode is a flurry of texts from all my non-port supporting mates hanging shit on me for 4 quarters of a predictable train wreck of a performance we've got coming up.

This will be like the second showdown last year.

GWS by 78.

Based on the patterns of the Hinkley era, you can bet London to a stale pie we will lose this game.

Port under Hinkley does not just have bad games, we have form slumps that last weeks and only end when the players have been so thoroughly excoriated by media and fans, they are shamed into greater effort.

Nah this is the kind of game we win.

Freo was the kind of game we lose.

Yep, we are due for an embarrassing flogging.

Okay, that was a bad loss, unforgivable, the worst.

Shit, it's triggered nightmare flashbacks and BigFooty has gone full nuclear, making the Chernobyl and Fukushima meltdowns look like cordial spills on your kitchen floor.

But we'll grind out a tough, gritty, U-G-L-Y, you ain't go alibi, you ugly! win.

Because Ports.

Our dominance at center clearance is a strength with Ryder in the side. Without him we battle. If giants win clearance they have some serious talent on the outside (kelly shiel Taranto Whitfield etc) who can cause us huge problems.

It’s going to take a special effort from charlie in the middle against Dawson Simpson (who is not the best ruckman but he’s a big man and will win a fair bit of ball).

We are one of the worst sides in AFL when it comes to D50 transition.

All of this points to a tough day at the office, so we will need to take our chances in front of goal (again a thorn in our side) and produce a pretty different performance to what we have seen in the last month.

We as fans gotta get behind the lads - they will need us this week

the above makes me think we need Pittard in

Would Lienart be a chance this week? Surely he and Pittard must be close as we lack any speed out of defence, plus I'd like to see Lienart's kicking come into the side. We are sorely lacking Hammer and a fully fit Broadbent which may never happen again.
