There are a couple of blokes on our side who have limited talent... but they will always give 100% when they get out there. And then we have someone like Buckley who is probably dying the death to get out there and run through brick walls for the jumper.

I think Doc has potential to be captain of our footy club.
I guess we will see.
Melbourne and bulldogs havent played finals in a long time.
It is more unusual for a team so devoid of heart and talent to turn it around quickly.
I wouldn't be betting your house that this playing group could turn a car around, let alone a season.

I think that Jones has 3 already, Casboult got 2 last night and I think that Henderson has 1 from the two matches played...
so another 4 matches for Jones, Casboult needs another 8 games and Henderson needs 18...

Waite would have either injured himself in the first quarter or spat the dummy in the second because of the shit delivery. Are you going to turn into something similar to the Fevola dreamers wishing that we still had Fev on our list (even through he is 34 and would have retired 2-3 years ago)?
The thing is that Clem will be so much better for these 2 three and a half quarter runs than only getting a quarter a game... We should have Boeky, Clem, DVR, Bucks, Whiley, Byrne and Crippa all in getting time and experience from here on. I know that is pretty much resigning ourselves to missing finals after two weeks, but I just don't realistically see a point in delaying the inevitable... If anything it'll push the older heads in the 2s to pull their fingers out..

And you just know that the independent reviewer will just happen to meet Bruce Mathieson on the way into the club and he will get handed a big fat envelope and the review will happen and no mention will be made of the unhealthy influence that Bruce has on the club!

They might be worried about what they'd find.
The people (families) responsible for running the club into the ground are the same people who are board members and major sponsors.

That's not how these people operate remember, these people think they are the ONLY PEOPLE who can run the club. They don't want any outside review FMD the only feedback they will accept is through their idiot offspring and other flunkies through formats such as YCP.
It will have to come from a new ticket.

It's probably been mentioned a lot already, but it's an indictment on your club captain when the coach doesn't nominate him in regards to leadership in the post match press conference.

Yep agree 100% & best to do it while the president & CEO are relatively new to their positions so as not to give them reason to sweep under the carpet any negative findings.

Yeah, change has already been afoot though, probably a little less publicly than some would like. I think the key question is "what got the list into this shape in the first place?" The second question being " is the club doing/done anything about it?" I feel the areas most needed have been addressed, that doesn't mean there is an instant fix though. Buckle down and be patient or go down yelling and screaming, it probably won't change the quality of our list.

Kick along the boundary line eh? So predictable. Leaves the middle of the ground open for us to get sliced apart on rebound.
Happened time and time again the last 2 weeks; opposition players running it through the middle with zero pressure applied. Its a joke of a game plan.
I refuse to beleive that our mids are that lazy, slow or unfit to not be able to cover a player. Its coming from above.
We have no forwards Betts, Garlett and Waite all gone - all recent leading goal kickers. Who is going to score the goals exactly? Our midfield dont score heavily. Murphy hasnt had a scoreboard impact for years. I cant see how we can score enough to win any games with our current forward strucure.
Our defence is actually one of our better areas. Dont let JK's 10 goals mislead you. When the ball is getting pumped into F50 with ease through the middle of the ground, and locked in there for 10 minutes at a time, its only a matter of time till you get scored against. Our game plan is actually nullifying our main strength (a good back line, and a decent midfield).
Its a dogs breakfast, and Its ruining the confidence of our players who are dropping their heads, and not giving 100 percent once it all goes pear shaped. Not that this is something I can forgive them for; put your bodies on the line and give everything 100 percent at all times or youre out.
Its going to be a very long year.
