Heath Grundy?
Impressive answer (if you didn't peek that is)!

Reg must have been told by the coaches to run off Baz as much as possible, having been on the wrong end of some poor marking themselves in the past.

Nope, didn't peek mate.

I thought it may have been a defender. I remember Shaw had the most bounces in the league last year and Grundy played well and gave us plenty of run last night. Tempted to pick Richards or Kennelly as well though..

LOL Goat

Your love for White is tempered by Bungee's irrational negitivity.

See my last post in the Jesse White thread. Balanced and rational.

Great game. I am a very happy fan even though all I had was an Internet stream of SEN radio. Plugged the iPhone into the car stereo so I could listen to the game as I drove roof-off through the English countryside. Loud too. Loud enough to scare the local farmers and their cows. I don't know what they made of the mad Australian in a Belgian registered convertible screaming Jettttttttaaaaaaa ! KIRKEEEEEEEE ! etc.

Going to watch the game on the Eurotunnel tonight. :thumbsu:

Am I getting it wrong, or is the form of TDL, and McGlynn before he was injured, a lot to do with the crowd Jesse White draws when he leads, and the contests he forces, leaving space for the smaller blokes??? Bevan is another.

I know I defend White, and his stats are not what stats are supposed to be in this era of Supercoach and Dream Team, but for a player who cops so much criticism, his presence in our forwards seems to have helped other players around him kick a lot of goals.

It might even be that we've changed our style to accommodate White's role as basically a decoy.

I didn't see very much of the game last night; this is more an observation on the past several weeks.

Good observation. Same when Bradshaw comes back? They do not have to do much... just take the No1 & 2 defender out of it. (I think, BBBH was often asked to do the same when a Swan in later yrs, but he demanded all the ball instead.. & still doing it:eek:.)

No excuse for Jesse not 'clunking' he easy ones though!!!!!!!!!!!
He will ..with a bit more development and needs another tall partner other than Goodesy. (They opposition know Goodes will beat them ...so all they do is zone him wide.)

Well this is exactly what p.ssed me off with him last year. All that didn't happen last night was that he didn't punch someone. No doubt he has been great (individually) for the Dogs this year but geez...........they look so much more predictable going forward now, then they have for the last 3 years.

Ahh well..............at least Bazza gets to come second in the Coleman...........................ohh yeah.............& he now has a pre season p'ship. Something never achievable at the Swans:rolleyes:.
Yeah........& he got to get photos taken with Gillard..........just awesome!

But guess what Baz? Had you stuck to the Swans ethos, or "toed the company line" :)p to the goat), then you could have celebrated alongside Roos & Kirk & looked forward to another finals campaign with the team you held the cup aloft for as captain.

But hell...............I guess it's better having Lake or Gilbee or some other "better delivering" Bulldog totally ignore you & blaze away at goal, then those very team mates you shared your greatest AFL moment with. Yeah...........those same guys you blamed for "poor delivery".

Yes I know Bez....................I'm still going on about it!;)

LOL!:D Ted

Yep we have had our slight "disagreements"... generally tho luv your passion n insight!:thumbsu:

BBBH, was right to demand it yesterday.... they had nothin'

Did you see the bear hug Kirk/BBBBH?:)

SENSATIONAL!!!... Jolly, Hall ... how much many class acts ....do we have to seed back!?????

Veszpremi aint goin no where!... book mark it.... (as they say on stooopid BF)

TEAM ... will get him RIGHT! if not assn't coach Kirk WILL!!!;)

Rodney Eade is blaming the SCG for Cooney's injury.

Not for the fact that he plays week in week out at the most pathetic stadium in the competition.

Poor form tosser.

Again I agree with Aker. Pity he has to add that last bit though because that's what stops people actually listening to him.

Eade has been disappointing this year, I know they are 4th but he has been one of the ordinary coaches this season. Countless times he lets guys like Gia get tagged out of the game and just leaves them. Probably time for a new coach at the Dogs.

I love Aker, If he was 26-27 i'd be hoping for Swans to pick him up.
Though he is still a great of the great game we love.

He brings up good points as usual (especially the stuff about Eade and his backing of Etihad but criticising SCG) and stuff that few others have the guts to say in a similar position but it all just smacks of sour grapes. I understand he feels hard done by but it still seems like he has no sense of self-awareness, in knowing how much of an arrogant prick he is.

Now he's doing his best to turn the media circus' attention to the Dogs' struggles. It's a bit pathetic if you ask me.

I agree. Eade is acting like a complete dick over the surface and Cooney's injury. Haven't heard one other coach complain about it this year. Eade is in pure deflection mode, knowing perhaps that his side is sliding badly away from flag contention. Now with all their injuries and poor form I'd say they're one of the weaker teams going into the finals. Straight sets for mine.

Eade is now coaching with the same bitterness that characterised his last season or so with Sydney, and his team is similarly struggling.

Weight of expectation is getting to him now, and Aker will simply be making him more on edge.

After the preseason I'm sure Eade would have been very confident of a flag; Hall seemed to be doing everything hoped for, and more; the Dogs
senior players were supposedly at peak, the younger ones (Hill, Higgins, et al) were flying.

Now it's all falling apart.

I like the dogs, sure hope they get a new coach too. Aker raises some things other people are too afraid to say but it's amusing how it's centers around the wb's weaknesses.

Youre entitled to your opinion mate but I just find it hard to bag him about anything as he was a loyal servant to our club and a premiership captain, bit harsh imo but hey this is bigfooty, vent away...:thumbsu:

I'm with you, Bez.

I half-heartedly booed him the first time he touched it but just didn't feel right. Without him we wouldn't have won the flag, wouldn't have had the period of success we did. At least not to the same degree. He was always loyal to our club when he was with us and did a lot for the continued promotion of the club and game up here.

His place at the club was untenable and he had to leave for the good of himself and the club. He certainly still had plenty to give as a player and i hold no grudges to him at all.

Still one of my favourite players to watch when on song.

First of all, I need to say that I could NEVER EVER boo Bazza & I can't help but always see him as a Swan. I guess the only way I can describe my own selfish feelings about him are that I wish him well at the Dogs, but for the sake of all my fond memories of the big fella, I don't want him to achieve more then he did at the Swans. Mainly because he was the one that held our first cup in 72 years aloft.....................& because he criticised his fellow devoloping team mates & their delivery of the ball to him as being the reason he was getting frustrated at the club.

Yeah, there was some satisfaction for me when I saw him yelling abuse at his Bulldogs team mates when their delivery to him was poor or when they overlooked him altogether. But then there was part of me that felt sorry for him that night & I really wished he was still on our side to celebrate the night alongside two of the ALL TIME legends of our club.

Life is a great at bringing us down to earth with a thud & I reckon that there must have been a part of Bazza that wished he was still in the Red & White on Saturday night to be alongside Kirky & share the elation with him.

Ahhh........................who knows anymore!
I need to move on..............hey?
Cheers folks!:thumbsu:

To Rocket's credit he went out of his way after the match to shake Paul Roo's hand after the game. Big thing when the weight of the AFL world is on your shoulders going into the finals for that I rate him as a person.

I rate Danny Frawley too for shaking Plugger's hand after the game because he booted his 100th in a game against Richmond who Frawley was coaching at the time.

I am really struggling to think of the incident that has lead to Bevan been cited by the MRP.

Bevan tackled Griffen front on as he disposed of it, and slammed him fairly and legally onto his back. Should challenge.
