Macrae was good without being outstanding, leggy took a step forward, Carmy can kick a goal but not much else. Thought Allan and HH in particular were disappointing.

Begg is not a Ruck. Hopefully Steene just a minor rolled ankle and is back next week. We need him in the ruck and forward

Take the points
Jiath and Dean looked the best prospects.

HH and Allan have got attributes but they look a bit dopey.

A performance not talked about is Liam McMahon, former player drafted in the second round in 2020. Good showing from him today. Felt he was stiff to be cut after two seasons and one spent in a new position.
I had high hopes IF he could put on some bulk - but now 2 more years down the track and he’s no stronger.
I can’t see how he makes it, if he can’t hold his ground in contests.

Yeah I reckon that was the concern with him. Whether he could put on anymore size

Callum brown just won the best vic player against SA. We know brown and macrae are good vfl footballers. It’s the next step that’s the issue for both atm
Brown got more Chances at AFL Level then Fin

I think Oleg might come back in.
It’s a tough one. I guess with macrae and Mitchell it’s just solely inside mids that can’t play anywhere else. Is macrae the right player for pendles? Mitchell AND macrae is prob to much.

Night and day for markov between today and his last game.

So what's everyone's opinion of Fin today? He really is a level above but he needs to grab his next chance with both hands
Honest opinion. He goes alright when he's not under pressure. But he's a little suspect when under pressure. He's still a work in progress who will definitely step up next year when a few of our veterans retire.

I'd go with JDG, Nick, Mitchell and Crisp as full time mids - that covers the centre square. Lipinski for coverage if we need anyone to chop out.

Too early to say never. Some players haven’t even started their careers at his age.

His development at AFL level has been limited. With more time, he will improve.
She didn’t at any point say never. And her assessment was likely on the mark, no matter how badly you want it to not be.

He was ok, but nothing about him screams AFL level KPP.

Sullivan didn't quite set the world on fire in his new role but did some good things late. I think it was Jen who said it was indicative his position in the pecking order to be moved out of the midfield, but I disagree a bit. I thought moving him around was a sign of them rating him and searching for a different way to get into the seniors.

When the game was on the line at the start of the 4th you saw him move into the middle which I thought was more of a sign to where he fits in the pecking order.

Thats because Call was a long way ahead if Fin at the same time of his career and looked a lot better at AFL level. Even so that wasn't enough for him to make it longer term but he played 22 games in his 3rd season

I don't think Sullivan is low in the pecking order. He's an experienced VFL player who they likely thought could fill-in for Ryan. Someone had to do it and his profile best suited the call. It happens.

Why haven't we got a tall amongst our VFL listed players?

Jiath is a great prospect.
I do think mcrae can step up if given an opportunity. Links well, often seems 2nd to the ball in tight though, which explains the high tackle numbers.
HH seems to have some nice traits but doesn't see enough ball.
Allan again is a great size but seems to lack a little footy nous at this stage.
I'd be annoyed if I was Sullivan. Dominated two games in the middle, pushing for debut, and then moved to half back.
Markov must of been given a rocket at half time because he came out with intent afterward.

Hutchinson, Glover, Dowling, Long, Silvagni, Sof to name a few are tall. Farrant is another name but you may not have heard of him. He's playing local in the short term to trim down but should feature later.

We don't have rucks because list spots are limited and it's rare to have both out.

Who plays on any given week comes down to injuries and who out of the AFL list is playing. Some players aren't needed every week even if they're ahead of others.
