I've got a friend who works for coburg. He had a chat to the captain, who told him that Johnson is one of the easiest forwards to play on. He's so lazy, that he lets the defender dictate terms because he doesn't move.\

Pretty damning
Not sure whats going on with him this year, but ive never seen him play worse.

Was chatting to Paul Amy at the game who thinks he could be one of those players that has no ticker. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you dont have the effort and intent, the workrate, you can get found out.
Reminds me of Sier in that aspect.

At Moment he will be the 1st Player De-Listed

Not sure where his Confidence he had has Gone?

Not been the Same with his Big Stuff up last year vs Frankston

It only took 26 to win the flag last year:

The 23 on GF day plus Noble Adams ad McStay. Might need to do it with 24 this year.

But Harrison, Bytel and Sullivan may be able to play a role if we need them.

Not sure why we even picked these guys up tbh, I don’t think bytel or Sullivan are gonna be good enough at afl level.

I’m not surprised hearing that.

Sier never really wanted to play AFL. He’s happy at Heidelberg. Think we have to remember the professional lifestyle isn’t for all. It certainly never held Sier back.

If thats how he has always felt, why even nominate for the draft in his draft year.
Could have picked someone else.
But yeah, when he didn't nominate the draft after being delisted, you felt he was happy just playing local, and didn't care too much

Except that Sier played many good AFL games. He may not have had his heart in the game, but he can at least say it was obvious he had an AFL career ahead of him if he had wanted it.

Oh for sure. Probably the most disappointing thing about Sier. He had good games, and then when he struggled to get back in the team, you started to feel he didn't want it enough.

Bytel isn't popular on here, but to me he looks like someone who could come in and play a role. Looks an upgrade on Bianco to me.

We've picked SSP rather than late draft as they are more likely to offer immediate depth, are in the right age bracket to be relevant when we need them and just as if not more likely to make it than a late draft pick. We're not aiming for Nathan Buckley, we're aiming for Tarkyn.

I'm liking our strategy - draft picks for blokes with exciting attributes. SSP for role players.

He was young. Someone probably suggested it to him and he submitted an application not thinking much. If he wanted it, he could have been elite. Had everything but drive.

There’s not much to dislike about Bytel. He plays his role well, even if he receives stuff all credit.

I'm with you. Looks like a solid footballer that could play an AFL role. Unlikely to find the CHF or inside mid that everyone wants in the undrafted SSP cohort.

Was Markov playing wing today

They don’t magically grow on trees nor are they exclusively on offer to us.

We were actually going to sign Bytel and Sullivan to our VFL program anyway but invited them over summer as add-ons.

Bytel belongs on the wing, best position. He looks productive.

Not sure if it was wing. Played back, maybe a bit in the middle, but moved him out when it didn't make a difference. But seemed to use his running off the backline
But wing you'd think would suit his pace.

Oleg has been very good te last 2 weeks. Great to have a depth player that could slot straight in and cause some damage.

Yeah, definitely getting better last couple weeks. But apparantely resigned to the fact he has lost his spot Mentioned to someone that he has his work cut out for him, now he's gonna have to work extra hard

Not surprised one bit. You can tell his lazy just watching him on the stream. Just jogs behind his man while they sprint to contests. Shows no urgency.

He's playing really well. He looks ready to take an opportunity if it opens up.

He looks as though he hates the game. Club should cut him and pay him out (or trade him for peanuts to dump his wage). He’s cooked.

I thought Pendlebury was cooked after the 2018 finals series.

Taylor walker was first cooked in 2017.

Luke Hodge in about 2012.

Tom Mitchells 2022

Brian Lake before he moved to Hawthorn.

AJ is playing poorly. Hopefully he starts playing better.

I think it's the right call. His kicking looks to be his strength.

I don't think Harrison is a senior wing option. Bytel is the only outside mid out of the team.

Lippa can play wing, but he's also our centre square depth. As McRae said, whe is our Swiss army knife.
His kicking is neat and he has a very nice kicking action but I don’t think he’s damaging enough with the ball going forward.

I guess if we want another defensive option on the wing it makes sense. But even with Sidebottom out the more defensive wing out him and Daicos we used both WHE and Lippa so I don’t see Bytel getting selected there anytime soon. We also push Jack Crisp out there as well.

The other thing is we don’t want want to add another slow guy to the inside midfield mix but Bytel would likely only be in contention if a slow mod got injured anyways.

The club may also think we’re covered inside with Fin as the slow option and Sullivan the quicker option but I’d prefer they swap Fin out to wing and Bytel inside as I’m just not seeing it with Fin insides.
