Put the cue in the rack too early, Ned to stay in the game for four full quarters. The lairisng of Butler was a real disappointing aspect of today and takes the gloss off a good three and a half quarters of footy.

Rance should get 3 chas’s but won’t, he was epic today and the main reason hawks couldn’t score deep inside 50 with their talls.

Cotchin, McKintosh even Conca all we’re superb. Conca really needs to work on his disposal when he has time to use the ball rather than just blast away. He looked better when under pressure and generally used it well.

Dusty had a quiet one today and not sure if he is 100%?

Higgins looks like he is comfortable even though he didn’t get it a lot. Good debut.

Houli typical, gets it a bit but gee he makes you hold your breath sometimes with his use of it.

Umps, well we got reamed again today. High tackles went unrewarding right in front of them, dropping the ball no longer seems to be a rule and our game is built around pressure acts. The pressure acts lead to the opposition dropping the ball but it’s play on. Hardwick needs to mention this in his weekly address in a diplomatic fashion.

Listened to the game on ABC and I'm proud of the boys from what I've heard. The Hawks kept coming and we kept kept pushing them back. The last quarter was a bit of a shambles, thought it was going to be a blowout. Outstanding debut from Higgins, the competition for spots as a small forward heats up once more.

Performed really good yesterday
I watched him...he's easily pushed off his balance...and is not aware of where to position himself on the ground for the team's benefit...
Kicks ok...takes a mark ok...would not have him in yet...

  • 5 cotchin was supreme today and the best mid on the park
  • 4 alex rance killed everything welcome return to form
  • 3 castagna 7 tackles and 3 goals was huge
  • 2 houli ran all day
  • 1 shane edwards
Agree but some love should also be for Astbury. Was very good and never gets recognised imo.
