Any injuries are horrible but silver lining for me is we were never contending this year any way and most of the injuries are to older players that won't be here for our next tilt, we are really going to see alot of games into younger players now. Should fast track some of their development just by purely pumping games into them
So far this looks like a very even season and with the spirit shown by the side over the last two weeks (plus the new gameplan) it wouldn't be impossible for our fit squad to get into the 8. Today may have blown that up, but I guess we'll furst have see who makes it back and when. This could also be a game that galvanises the team and drives a culture shift back to resilience.

Lets do a Sam Mitchell Cleansing now get ready for Mid Season draft and then End of Season/Draft & Trade.

Outs
Chesser, Shuey, Cripps, Mcgovern, Witherden, Gaff, Hurn

Ins
Yeo, Culley, Clark, Winder, Petruccelle, Hedwards, Hough, Bazzo

Retire Shuey, Cripps, Hurn & Mcgovern now if it Torn tendons.

Shuey is cooked.
Cripps broken ankle now has to be career ending. Will be out all this season. Will question playing on next year.
Hurn in a big decline, should of went last year.
McGovern if this is a serious rip of Hammy Tendons ie Daniel Kerr like then he is done.

Cole Barrass Hunt
HOUGH EDWARDS Duggan
Ginbey YEO Jones
PETCH Allen Sps
Long Waterman Ryan

Williams CULLEY Kelly

BAZZO, CLARK, Sheed, Hewett

Sub WINDER

Cripps, McGovern and Shuey is a lot of quality along with Naitanui that’ll be out for an extended period in a season that we needed everything to go right just to have a sniff at finals

Based on todays evidence we’ll be more competitive than last year but I doubt we have the depth of talent to get out of the bottom 6

How many games do you feel they have left?

Shuey
Cripps
McGovern
Hurn

First three potentially with bad injuries.

If their injuries are serious would you extend their contracts?

Not Keys but

I think Shuey at HBF can play the season out - then retire
Cripps should get another contract end of 2025 might only be a 12 week injury
McGovern , great player just cannot stay on the field so reduced money to 2025 , would imagine will look elsewhere if offers are good ( which they will be )
Hurn , last season still going well but retire end of season with Shuey.
Unfortunately....

Out: Shuey, Witherden, Gov, Crippa :'(, Chesser, Ryan, (Allen), (SPS)

In: Clark, Hough, HEdwards, Petch, West, Trew, (Winder), (XóN)

DO NOT RUSH YEO IN OFF OF SOFT TISSUE INJURIES

I would have loved to have brought in Rotham, especially if Allen doesn't get up, but again it feels like asking for trouble with his recent break.

I really don't want to risk Culley against Melbourne if he has a bung shoulder. Those campaigners will slam him into the ground at every opportunity. He's a valuable asset and I don't see the point in risking him at this point.

Sheeda extremely lucky that the injury cards are falling his way. Gaffy is maybe finding some form with 2 better second halves in a row...can someone get the smelling salts under the blokes nose before the first bounce this week?

Darling a chance to not get up? I noted that he was not chasing (uncharacteristically) several times yesterday which makes some sense in light of WCE_phil sayiing he got word Draling had tweaked his back early in the piece.

That game was a total bloodbath and is going to potentially set back a great thing that has been building the first three weeks. Ugh.

Hough should get a game, is Culley fit? Basso should be in soon. Well there are plenty so what's the worry, except we have players like waterman who are not up to AFL standard and will need to be persevered with (sadly) and this drags down the vibe of the joint. I have also reluctantly decided Sheed is now depth only

Is that the same Waterman who kicked 4(?) goals last week to help us win the game? (clearly not up to AFL standards). The Waterman who was selected to play 74 AFL games?
I guess therefore JJ is also not up to AFL standards as he had a quiet game too?.

Goroyals and calling Waterman not AFL standard

Well the invisible man was back to his normal self yesterday… in saying that however there was no need to bag him yesterday.

running total on how many weeks it takes him to kick 4 goals in total after 4 goals last week is 1..

Great spirited effort, but it appears the boys are not as fit as they need to be a lot of hammys happen when you are pushing your body close to your limit.
Anyway enough on fitness bring on the youth.

How does pushing your body to the limit = not fit enough?

Legit the shittest troll account going round.

What do we think about having Jamieson as the sub?

Allows Williams and Waterman to have a crack for a half and a bit, then have Jamieson take over and send Waterman back to the fwd line.

If we're worried about whether BBWilliams/Waterman can stick it out, I'd rather Rotham is the backup or sub. Rotham has shown that he can play multiple roles over the course, even if he hasn't been consistent with it.

Besides that, I reckon Jamo will be better developing in full games at WAFL level.

It’s too risky. If someone gets injured early then Jamieson coming on becomes a liability especially if we lose a running player

Re Waterman: last week was a magnificent effort and shows what he can do.

I have been a long time fan of his ... but ... sadly ... if you can't establish yourself when you've been given 74(?) games to do so then I'm suggesting, statistically, you aren't going to make it in the future. It will be one good, several average to bad, dropped, rinse, repeat.

Pity.

We have few who seem better than WAFL but can’t make it when given the chance.
