Simmo names Clark, Trew, West, Culley, Oneill and Edwards as all fit and ready to go

Silver lining is we get to see if Trew , West and Clark are up to AFL level. Looking forward to seeing Winder get a run, preferably on a wing.

Like the idea of Ginbey having a go at Petracca. Culley/Clark to go with Oliver. Gaff to have a run with role (maybe Langdon?).
I'd really like to see Ginbey get some time with Oliver as well just to see the amount of contests Oliver wills himself to and that being the fitness standard, something to keep in his head when he's running in the next preseaon.

How good is his RS interview where he's discussing all the oppo footage he's been looking at trying to learn from the best in the game already. Kid has a brilliant attitude to improving his game, as advertised all last year.

Take two
Culley for Shuey
Edwards for McGovern
Rotham for Witherden
Clark for Cripps
Petch for Ryan
Hough for Chesser
West for SPS

Backs: Barrass, Edwards, Rotham, Hurn, Duggan, Cole, Jones
Mids: Kelly, Sheed, Ginbey, Culley, Gaff, Hunt
Rucks: Williams, Waterman
Forwards: Darling, Allen, Petch, Long, Clark, Hough, West (some pinch hitters there)
Sub: Hewett again
Emergencies: O’Neill (held over), Ledwards, Barnett?

Available for WAFL: Ledwards, Barnett, Bazzo, Winder, Trew, maybe Yeo, maybe Jamieson, maybe Burgiel, maybe Dewar.

Hough can go back if we want to put Jones forward or Rotham into the ruck.

Hewett can come into the 22 and one of West or Clark can be sub, if they think he’s up to a full game.

Yeo to come back through the WAFL, don’t take any risks with the position we’re in.

So impressive, him along with Culley's application over the off season I really hope spread's across the young playing group. This is the mindset of players who are going to lead us to our next premiership.

I wasn't sure he was the right pick when they made it, Half-back flanker turned mid-fielder. I'm more than happy to say I was 100% wrong.

In: H Edwards, Hewett, Hough, Petruccelle, O'Neill, Clark
Out: McGovern, Shuey, Witherden, Cripps, Ryan, Chesser
Sub: Culley
Emergencies: Bazzo, West, Winder
Ryan & Chesser will probably be touch & go.
TBH this might be too many changes to select players on merit...
Hough & Petruccelle are certainly worthy of selection imo.
If both Cripps & Ryan are out, as a like for a like replacement I wouldn't mind Winder as the other small forward in.
Dunno if it's too early after his indiscretion tho.

Out: McGovern, Shuey, Witherden, Cripps, Ryan, Chesser, SPS
Sub: West
Emergencies: Bazzo, Winder, Foley

Make great players available, spend money wisely. English offers less that a lower cost journeyman Ruckman eg Hicky. This move west garbage is a cop out, successful organisation create their future.

Which lower cost journeyman ruckman would you recommend?

Interesting listening to Bell on SEN with Duffield this morning, he was very bullish on Barnett. Said they were pleased with how he went against Zac Clarke on the weekend game. Stopped short of declaring him a starter this weekend but left it as a possibility albeit an unlikely one

Did say he could only be a couple of weeks away with more confidence

Later on Kennedy backed the idea (of Barnett playing) suggesting that with Cripps and possibly Ryan missing, Waterman may be required to spend more time forward

Even more intriguing if it turns out that Allen is the mystery 7th injury.

That’d mean Waterman would absolutely have to play as the second key forward, and then either Rotham or Barnett (assuming Jamieson’s not available) would have to come in to back up Williams.

Starter for the Eagles?

Let's at least be realistic.

To make Perth attractive to an established great player with no ties West and with every other club bidding the Eagles would need to pay massively above market rates.

That recruitment policy has failure written all over it.

Buddy Franklin went to Sydney and not WA for a reason.

The travel burden is tangible. Why would they do that with better options also throwing big $$$ at them?

Why hasn't it happened already?

All these injuries are crippling, the silver lining is that they are older players who even if not for years to come, will slot right back in.

The real flat news is SPS injury, these are the times where players like this need to really establish themselves

Petch and/or a midfielder like XON or West can replace Cripps.
Has to be Petch.

Standout in the WAFL game and is actually quite craft around goals.

XON has always been invisible when played HFF and West pretty much just plays defensively.

What concerns me about this week is that with no rotations in the 4th quarter last week you can bet that those that were left were being pushed in the "red zone" as the sport scientists call it. In other words being more vulnerable to injury.

Apart from the forced changes I wouldn't being against resting a few others. From the outside It might appear dangerously close to tanking but I think it could help avoid even more injuries in the following weeks.
