Feels so much like those marking hands of bergmans are wasted on the wing. He is totally capable of being a Tom Stewart.
He isnt smart enough to do a Tom Stewart.

I mean yeah, stewart is a top echelon player. I more mean a similar role. Despite his influence late I feel he would play his best footy down there.

If we did that though it would probably come at the expense of Burton and maaaaaybe inclusion of sinn on the wing.

other option is bergman stays where he is and we put williams in burtons spot.

Either way Burton needs a spell.

Ryan Burton 18 touches, 9 inside 50s for 3 score involvements. Now that it some serious piss blasting

The absolute hysteria about ‘protecting the head’, as Ben Dixon and Brad Johnson debate whether Zak Butters was really going for the ball when he might’ve clipped that Docker with his arse(?).

****ing Kangaroo court shit on Fox Footy. They shouldn't even be talking about it like they have any jurisdiction over the result

Come on, they should have beaten Carltank last week. They play dour game.

They beat us inside and let seeepers wide of the pack whilst we got sucked into ball chasing. I thought they did a real good job negating our midfield. They have some genuine speed too.

35 FWD and 13 back played amazingly well. Shame it took so long to man up 13 it was obvious.

Well done Lachie on fighting back, Butters lifted in the last, Drew’s tackle being punished in the 3rd rough.

Mitch G looking great, but not as great as the Freeo chick in the red dress walking past the hill. When she walked past and I said go Freeo, she turned and smiled and had confident goddess all over 😂
Careful Rick.

Those bemoaning the quality of the game, it's the quality of every game Freo have played this year. I watched their game against the Crows a couple of weeks ago, and this game was the 2018 Grand Final compared to that dross.

I fully thought Freo were trash this year after they played the Crows. That was the worst game of footy this year by far. But it’s just how the play. God imagine supporting Freo.

FFS we are nearing 10 seasons of bomb it to Charlie. You could see in the first quarter it wasn’t going to work but they just persist. Why does our forward line never have any space. It’s so painful.

The JHF mark and goal is the loudest the crowd has been in years. Was such a boring game to that point really.

Let’s never mention it again.

Funny game. It was dour, we were outplayed for the majority of it, yet we came away with a win, and I thought there were some important positives for the rest of the year.

Burgoyne was excellent. Got plenty of it, generally used it well and some excellent tackling. Deserves a change to claim a spot as a long term wing.

Bergman looked much better this week. Excellent marking, scored a great goal, and looked much more settled.

I also thought Jones was much better tonight and really showed his potential. His closing speed, size and physicality complements our backline well. I hope he can build on tonight as it’s pretty clear that confidence is key to his form.

It’s also great to see us nail some clutch moments. Firstly Dixon, then JHF (and Butters in particular really lifting in the middle). That kind of experience is vital for future finals.

I don't think that enough fuss is made about Dan Houston's field kicking. He's not just a good long kick; he's also a great short kick who has terrific vision and makes intelligent choices. He is tough when he needs to be, solid in the air and is consistently getting 25+ disposals every week. I'm a big fan.

Personally I think there's nothing more overrated in football than how many uncontested possessions your ruckman gets. Who cares. Nic Naitanui only averaged like 10 disposals but I'd take peak Nic Nat's tapwork and clearance work over a 20 disposal Luke Jackson game every day of the week.
Not sure if you saw it live, but live he was unbelievably good.. he plays like a mid.. aggressive and strong.

They can’t possibly play darcy and leave this bloke out of the ruck..

Thought Lachie Jones took a big step forward tonight.
Cost at least 3 of the Fremantle goals by way of frees (2 goals) and not close enough defensively. One big tackle that personally I thought why was he 20 metres from his player when ball was coming in, could and should have cost him another goal. Took a good mark. Sorry not seeing what others are seeing. 1 contested mark. 12 disposals, 7 uncontested. Going by numbers, he ran off his player well, but when defending is loose and gets lost which causes him to give up frees (3).

McEntee should be sent to the gallows after that. He struggles against the bottom teams let alone good ones, there is no way he should be playing AFL football.

Hopefully we look back at this as the coming of age game for Burgoyne. Some good signs.

Nice to see Bergman have some moments after a quiet start to the year.

Esava is going to frustrate - sometimes good, sometime shit - but worth persevering with.

Wines is a bull but seems to throw our mid balance out. His lack of versatility is a problem. Drew, Rozee, Butters, JHF all ahead of him. If we could get a 2nd round pick for him I think you do it.
