No surprise that Ben Dixon wants him drawn and quartered at sunrise.Eddie betts defending him.
Expect a 2 week penalty. The absolute hysteria about ‘protecting the head’, as Ben Dixon and Brad Johnson debate whether Zak Butters was really going for the ball when he might’ve clipped that Docker with his arse(?).
He’s not the same since the last head knock. What can a lead up player like Marshall actually do when he's clearly playing to instruction in a congested forward line and the ball is bombed in consistently?
I find the criticism of Marshall fascinating cause it defies logic that he can kick 40 goals a year playing in a forward line structure that isn't designed to his strengths.
Billie Frampton could play on and thrash tonight's Charlie.Burgoyne is our best wingman on the list. He is young, he is super raw, but he wins contests and can rack up uncontested possession. PLAY HIM. He also has those fast twitch reflexes which help him avoid fumbling where many of our other players can't avoid it.
BZT has been so good for us. I hope he's ok. If not, someone mock up a superman outfit on McKenzie for our ins.
Dixon is so cooked. Again next week he'll play on a fast, amazing CHB in Moore. He will again be demolished. He needs to be luring their keys away from the contest. If we want to kick long. Get Dixon to empty out the forward line by leading, get Moore to follow and let Marshall and Georgiadies contest. He's going to need a rest, but with Finlayson and Lord out he is going to have to push through 2 more weeks.
JHF, quiet game after having the flu all week, but executed in the key moment when many others choked. Well done.
Burton and McEntee, friggin horrendous.
Soldo with heaps of HO, but smashed around the ground by Treacy and Jackson, and ultimately we were absolutely outplayed at the clearances. It it wasn't for our ability around the ground where we clearly are better we would have been pantsed. That forward line is just such an issue though.
George with a couple nice goals, needed to nail that last one though, that was the moment to stand up. Meanwhile Marshall has just been nonexistent this year. Gets to so many contests but is so ineffective.
So many bad individual moments that it's impossible to call them all out. And conceding a late shot is so on point for us.
*in got out of jail tonight. Now to watch Collingwood embarrass us next week.

****. Do we have to sit through that again?I come in peace.
Well played - just a bit better in the clinches than we were. Looking forward to the rematch later in the year.

Spot on.. it was close based on talent..almost lost in the coaching box.. nothing has changed for a decade.. kick it on Charlie’s head who plays from behind or falls over. Marshall is so soft, such soft hands so frustrating drops so many easy marks..Just the clearest display of how poorly coached this team is.
Continue to bomb it long despite Pearce and Ryan rebounding everything that comes in. Any idiot who's watched Freo knows that's their main strength, not only do we start with that but we keep doing it when the expected happens.
Then that last 2 minutes, multiple players doing everything they can from playing on, letting Aish rove the throws in or kicking it out of bounds to try and turn the ball over.
We just have nothing going on. It's all reliant on individually brilliant players with no structure or thought at all.
I come in peace.

His arse left the groundWas his arse raised?

The commentary was "Surely one day we'll see Marshall in an AA jumper"...... other commentators, holding back their laughing.... "Ah, it'll be tough he has to be in the top couple tall forwards in the comp for that"As bad as Dixon has been Marshall is worse.
Agree, some of the good things he does are very good.Thought Lachie Jones took a big step forward tonight.
They are, but the clearances were the big issue tonight. It meant we were attacking from the back half all night. That isn't easy to do against a side like Freo. Without scoring from clearance, our game plan starts to fall apart.I50s are our main problem.
Marshall is a long way from what I expected this year. Not taking a set shot from 53 m out when we trailed by 2 points late was disappointing IMO.
Yeah but Matt Crouch doing the same thing is ok when looked at by the same guys 2 min later because reasonsThe absolute hysteria about ‘protecting the head’, as Ben Dixon and Brad Johnson debate whether Zak Butters was really going for the ball when he might’ve clipped that Docker with his arse(?).
