At least Sidey was in our best the first few rounds.
Cox hasn’t been since 2019.
And if you think Cox hits his straps after 1 or 2 games, you must be watching a completely different game
What about the 2020 final against West Coast?

Sidey was abominable for most of 2021. If anyone tags him he crumbles mentally like in the 2018 Grand Final.

We’re probably on the same page. I’m by no means looking to drop or get rid of Adams. So much of what he does is critical for us but we can’t have him being the kicker going inside 50 and I’d say the optimum for him would be 3:1 handball to kick.

We need his grunt and his work around the contest. I can’t remember the show I was watching a couple of weeks ago but they weee focusing on Cripps and how he’s dishing handballs as the first option now rather than turning and hacking the ball forward by foot. That’s what we need Tay doing and I’d be reluctant to have him spending too much time forward.

Add Grundy and Crisp to that list.

I genuinely can’t believe people excuse crisps kicking and his horse blinkers he wears.

Bored at work so thought I'd offer my thoughts as an oppo supporter.

Not sure who your fitness coach is but give them a raise. Shorter break but seemed to have all the run late. I always felt we would win until that break down the wing that Ah Chee managed to stop. But was also never comfortable.

Mihocek would have made a huge difference in for Cox. Kreuger looks really talented, quite mobile too. De Goey I thought was decent albeit not as damaging as suggested if that makes sense - first goal from an iffy 50m penalty. Caught fire at the end and kicked a nice checkside when we made the genius decision to not stand the mark. Was very relieved when he was benched!

You seem to have blended old and young quite well, with no need to play all the kids every week, but instead playing a few of them and keep the side going well. Two Daicoses certainly helps. But seem to have a good mix coming through.

And Pendlebury, for all the talk of it being his last year; why? Still going so well. Still one of the best kicks going around inside 50. Play him until he drops off. He might get to 40 haha.

The only downside i see to your rebuild is Grundy, given the salary. A good ruckman but the money was crazy. But we all make mistakes. Look at us handing over Jack Crisp as steak knives! And he had shown signs. Crazy stuff.

Anyway i think you'll enjoy the season. Think you can get to the 8.

So despite them winning there isn’t much down there?
I think Harvey Harris, Poulter, McCrae, AJ and Begg will all play a part in our long term future along with Reef, Krueger, Dean and McCeery-that's a good strike rate of success from our most post season drafting/recruiting in the last year or two. Others have high hopes for Marley Cooper. I forgot to mention Henry, Ginnivan and Lipinsky! They too will be there for the long haul.

Watching from the pub with mates with an interesting experience. Got pretty rowdy haha.

It was a pretty good game. We took it right to them. We probably should have won if Kreuger kicked those easy ones. But going into this game, most probably wouldn't have thought we would only lose by 7 points.

For the first time all season we played all 4 quarters. Fought it out, and you've got to be pretty pleased with that.

I think it's time we move on from Cox, those glasses aren't helping him read the ball. Just now feels he is on borrowed time.

Kreuger showed a lot of good signs. A real attack of the ball. Probably could have had 4 goals himself, but he too is learning.

3 games in and I think we can say we looks to have a player in the great barrier. The way he moves, finds space up forward. And just to think, its not even his best position.

Its clear that 3 talls didn't work, but at least Fly was trying something different given we didnt have three of our best forwards not available, so you had to get creative.

Looking forward to getting Ginni, McCreery and Checkers back next week.

Reef missed as many Kreuger.

You’re right about moving on from Cox.

Checkers, Cameron and Kreuger as 3 talls with Reef playing the Elliott role swapping with DeGoey, McCreery and Ginnivan looks the best mix with WHE as the 7th until Henry can replace him looks ok if we can roll that out Anzac Day.

Yeah, Reef missed a couple two. He could have had 4 himself. But that may have been some nerves.

Yes, and he inherited a side that finished 17th, not runners up.

I think he's going OK.
A side that made the finals 3 out of the last 4 years - last year was the football departments fault.

McCrae told us all when he was appointed why he was a great coach yet he makes rookie errors like the Pendlebury one.

We are heading to a 2-5 start. Bombers and Suns will give us a pasting.

I think Lipinski needs to move to the wing and play a similar role to Daicos. We have very few quality kicks in the side and I think he would be more effective in this role. Some of our forward entries last night were hard to watch with pendles often the only one capable of hitting the leading forward target.

Who? Or are you talking about Cooper Murley?

You don’t pin it on either of those two. They did their bit last night and created chances.

Surround them next week with Checkers, McCreery and Ginnivan instead of Cox and Brown and we look instantly better.

Dean will replace roughhead if any good. Kelly might make it if he gets another year of development. Given how impatient our industry is, it’s not looking likely.

This is Kelly’s 4th season on our list and has shown next to nothing in those 4 seasons to warrant any optimism- he is a bust for me and should be delisted at years end

Yes but in decline. After tha absolute pasting we got against Geelong, the writing was on the wall that team wasn’t getting better. In fact it was getting worse year on year. Then you get rid of 3 best 22 and draft 6 kids. You think that doesn’t have an impact?

Take a look at that 2020 team and how much experience has gone from the team that’s been taking the field.

Last year football departments fault, this year mcraes fault, with the same list. Gotcha. Really enjoy your positive insight. With the worst fielded forward line in the comp due to injuries , we lost by 7pts in the hardest trip in football.

Lost by 2 kicks against geel and eagles and basically one against bris. You are right, sack McRae

What's wrong with his attitude?

In the VFL he just wasn’t concentrating, making dumb decisions and mistakes. He shows no urgency or desire, he moves around laconically and seems disinterested.
As I’ve said previously his got talent but needs tough love - if he had Madge’s competitiveness he’d be in the seniors.

I'm not. I was just stating some of the options that could have changed our way. But that happens.
We did fix up our inaccuracy to a point compared to the last two weeks.

But yes, they'll be better with checkers and go around them.

I said he made a rookie mistake - Pendlebury is towelling Neale so coach says I think I should let Neale off the leash. Well that worked.

And McCrae was the on telling how great a senior coach he is when he was appointed.

I think our coaching panel is OK as far as it goes, but what we have is 4 assistant coaches and no senior coach.

And the loss was really 4-5 goals. The last 3 goals we kicked were junk time.

BOLD CALL: Harvey Harrison to make a shock debut next week following a 3 goal performance in the VFL.

EDIT: Well, bold had to be in bold, didn't it?
