I do think this will be his last year. He’s done well to play as much as he has. Promised a lot after that 2018 final, but just never got the consistency, as you say.
He was at the wrong club. Could have been handy playing some ruck and lurking in the pocket without much attention for the occasional big grab in a team with good KPFs. I think he could have done what Daivid Hale did at the Hawks and has premiership medallions from.

7 touches, 1 tackle and fumbled a lot of great opportunities, he was terrible.
Not an unreasonable assessment of Wilson's game. Most dissapointing to me was the poor ball handling, you will never succeed as a fwd with that deficiency unless you are a powerful contested mark.
I know he kicked goals at VFL level, particularly the Box Hill game but he just doesn't strike me as a guy that can be a dangerous goal kicker at AFL level.
40 odd goals per year looks beyond him. Wouldnt expect him to be near selection with a few fwds to return this week.

Didn't hit his head
Intentional seems right, body contact so the only contentious part of the assessment was low versus medium impact.
The fact Josh got up quickly, played out the game and presumably has been cleared medically of any damage supports a low impact judgement.

Just didn't look that great.

WHAT A ******* JOKE THAT DOG GARDINER GETS A A FINE

SO IT'S OKAY TO LINE A PLAYER UP AND SMASH THEM

PISS OF CHRISTIAN YOU DOING A SHIT JOB

I thought it'd be that in the punishment matrix. It was just whether it was categorised as low or medium impact.

Not Christian's fault, but I don't like that the steps in the matrix between careless and intentional are so small.

Is potential for injury still a thing? Felt like it was only ever applied when a pies player went up anyway.

What’s the difference between that and Ryder and also de goey tackle
Point of impact. If Gardiner had collected Daicos in the head he'd be enjoying a holiday for a fortnight or so. Body contact + Daicos getting up quickly helped his case.

It was a scum act, but the way the rules are set up ensure that this kind of act isn't as punishable.

It is still a thing, but more for high contact incidents:

strong consideration will be given to the potential to cause injury, particularly in the following cases:
» Intentional strikes, such as those with a swinging clenched fist, » raised forearm or elbow;

High bumps, particularly with significant head contact and/or Player momentum;

» Any head-high contact with a Player who has his head over the ball, particularly when contact is made from an opponent approaching from a front-on position;

» Forceful round arm swings that make head-high contact to a Player in a marking contest, ruck contest or when tackling;

» Any contact that occurs when the Victim Player should not reasonably be expecting or is not reasonably prepared for contact (i.e. contact off the ball);

» Any dangerous tackle.

IF we had say a McCreery available then you can bet your bottom dollar one of Cox or Cameron doesn't play and we're immediately better at ground ball i50, and we can then use our 'chaos ball'.
McRae chose to go taller I doubt McReery’s availability had anything to do with that. More likely he plays over Callum Brown.

I think it may have - no Mcreery, Elliott and Mihocek meant that hitting one on one contests was not a good idea as our available forwards were pretty uncontested - so we went the bomb it to a pack option instead.
