It is also a question if Lynch has the fitness to run out a full game yet as pretty much a solo ruck given he had concussion, covid and hasn't even played close to full minutes since probably the intraclub preseason games
Would think we'll be better even if Lynch is playing more time as a forward than a Ruck than not playing him at all.

Hope Phillips isn’t dropped, his link play and defence first gives balance to the team, can see bramble taking the roll though. Spots are getting tight
Phillips was pretty poor on the weekend. For a more senior player he was well off it.

I just don’t think we should be playing him.

Long in for ward or mcdonald they have been massive but a weeks rest wouldn't be a bad thing.

Reeves - lynch
Long- mcdonald
Lewis- callow
Day- Nash (has barely been serviceable the last 2 weeks)

Shiels sub , wingard misses one more .
Wouldn't reckon Nash is omitted when the most recent coaching craft breakdown highlighted his goal saving defensive effort.

No lynch this week imo. Sam alluded to as much when he said they aren't opposed to doing something unconventional in the ruck. Callow to replace lewis for mine. Can motor and crash packs at least which is structurally important

Lynch is named on field. Final omissions for Sunday/Monday games come from the bench listed players.

It looks pretty clear to me that the plan is to rotate Kosi, Lynch and Nash through the ruck. Kosi and Lynch will also have a significant KPF role and Nash will have some role in the midfield rotations as well as his usual pressure utility role.
Agree. Looks like Sam only wants one tall fwd and Gunston, with the rest being runners, in that fwd line structure.

You guys are probably right. Only problem is Kozi's form isn't anywhere close to Mitchell Lewis, at the moment. And not sure how Lynch is, as a key forward. As long as they can bring the ball to ground for our Moore and co.

I always love having two big forwards.

Really hard to predict the final lineup from the ins.

The selection committee may opt to go Lynch/Nash as the ruck combo and have Kosi and Gunston as the key forwards.

Would love to see the other scenario of Callow replacing Lewis, and we have Lynch/Kosi as the ruck combo, allowing Nash to go back to his regular mid role

Clearly down on match fitness but also reckon Kosi is a big confidence player. He had a shocking first half against Geel, but did some nice things in the second, so am backing him to kick a few, esp as he's snagged 5 down there before.

I don't see similar angst against O'Meara then. Has missed a lot of games, and not many have been match winners.

Cost a fair bit at the trade table
He is the only mid we have among the big 3 that has a winning percentage over 50% during his time at hawthorn. He isn’t playing well this year but he has been influential over our outcomes, for sure.

I didn't think Pup was great either. Unless these two are in top form, I would rather be giving the kids a go in their place.

Were they poor or were given more defensive roles so less noticeable.

They are probably the first ones out though when Day, Bramble and Wingard are fit to come back

So I'm accessing my ticket via the app (now within 72 hours of the first bounce, so the countdown clock has expired and it is supposedly available) save for there is no barcode or anything.

Clear as mud.

Expect scrim, Morrison, JOM, McDonald with Phillips as sub. Worpel to get a run at box hill as he butchered the ball on weekend as Phillips run is better suited to Tassie. Long and callow need to do more at BH but will probably get a chance this year.

Lynch, kosi, Nash to rotate through the ruck. Just need to neutralise ladhams.
