If we go back to savage we have really lost the plot. Webster is much better

Only because he injures himself walking on to the oval so we don't have to see how shit he is. He's struggled to get more than a few games a year over 20 possessions as a rebounding back. He's the definition of a GOP. He's worse than Savage but he gives you long enough to forget at least. Savage is a GOP as well but has his long kicking which discos his game up a bit.... like a turd with a sparkler stuck in it. Coffield has passed both and he's still only played one good game. Clark way better than both.

Webster is a better kick than Savage. And a better one-on-one defender too.

Unfortunately for you not one person on bigfooty is on the selection committee

It should be like big brother, we could be the first side to text in selection by public vote.

Okay, watch him actually play, he's very ordinary. Even in our shit times he was never in our best 6 to 8 players. He's never actually had a break out game yet and he's about ready for the knackery.

That's a myth, he was never that good a kick. He could occasionally keep one low and flat but he was just less awful that Gilbert and Geary along side him.

Ratten has forecast changes, hard to figure out who’ll be dropped because it could be so many. No chance it’s Hill though, he’ll be given every chance to find form. He’s been very average so far this year but unfortunately his biggest strength has been negated with the shortened games and unlimited interchange. Byrnes seems a lock, could see Marsh dropped and Ryder in. I’m very pessimistic about this game. Genuinely can’t remember the last time we beat Adelaide, can anyone remind me? Also have never won at Adelaide oval I think? Our average losing margin would be huge there as well. Adelaide playing their first game in front of their fans and under huge pressure. They are the worst team in the league but still have a better midfield then us. The Crows have the wood on us big time we should have beaten them last year and made them look about ten times better then they actually were, especially the game at Marvel. Lose this and the wheels could come off. These games we should win this year but are against teams we are mentally shot against (Adelaide and Sydney) will be very interesting.

There is limited interchange.

I'd keep Paton, he's been good overall and same age as Coffield and Clark. Coff was off this week too, dropping them won't improve them.
Yeah but he's played 6 games this year and shown nothing that suggests he will be anything other than a hbf.
He's turns it over a bit and hasn't shown the potential of Coff and Clark.

Dingley is younger and its time he got a run at it.

Right, fair enough. Still think the shortened games have hurt him. His gut running used to come to the fore at the end of quarters and games. Agree he is as outside as it comes though and needs a great midfield around him, which we certainly don’t have at this point in time.

Paton went at 92% with 0 turnovers yesterday.

I think he's been one of the real positives so far. Not sure it matters that he won't be anything more than a back flanker.

Looks a much better footballer than Langlands IMO and I'll be surprised if the 6 months age difference between the pair comes into consideration at the selection meeting.

I'll be surprised if he's dropped with Long already out.

Dinggers looks better up front to me. Although I would love to see him get a game anywhere. Perhaps if we lose to Adelaide we'll get a youth side in and be fondly remembering the boat times.

Yep, his one trick is running out quarters like he started them. Shortened quarters are like his kryptonite. I still hate all of them for yesterday though. They had one ****ing job, stupid twats.

You're way off here.

Alright we'll see if he ever plays another game I guess. My guess is he'll be back throwing pies at people in country Tasmania in 12 months and working in a Bunnings.

I don't see where this ("It wasn't his job to be sighted") should be the role of the captain of a side. It's my view that a captain should be an inspiration to a side and a player who can win the ball and be creative with it. Geary does not tick this box unfortunately.
Gears is captain. Ain't no use wanting that to change mid season.
For better or worse Ratts is using him to best effect in a shutdown roll up field, which is paying dividends in the development of Coff, Paton, Long and Hunter who are the future.
This is just about making the best of the situation that we're stuck with.
Next year that young back line will be a force to be reckoned with and Gears will be gone, opening a spot for another mid/HF.
We could see Gresh pushed in there or maybe another recruit, and Byrnes/Bytel taking his spot in the middle.
Don't sweat it. ..

Not as surprised about the loss as some. We have struggled in each of our games when the pressure has come. We look great when we’re allowed to play our game, but once the pressure comes in the contest we cough it up.

I also feel we have been playing 1-2 mids short, probably because we have no depth at all. That’s why dropping Ross is so hard, it would only make the problem worse.
None the less, if Ratts is making a point then it’s got to be Ross in my opinion.

out: Long, Marsh, Ross
In: Byrnes, Bytel, Parker

We are heading in the right direction as a team, but our midfield (and probably small forwards) just doesn’t have the cattle imo.
